If there was a God, he'd hit all of Penn State with a tsunami or an earthquake or fire & brimstone or a plague of some sort (preferably involving something itchy) or make everyone there listen to "Take Care" over and over again. This whole thing makes me f*cking sick, but watching the students riot over Paterno getting the boot is the worst of all. Dozens of people had their lives ruined in part because this football staff turned a blind eye to a child-rapist, and the kids are upset that "Joe Pa" had to go? Get. The. F*ck. Outta. Here.
The part about this that I don't get is that the graduate assistant reportedly caught the guy mid-intercourse with a 10 year old. He then proceeded to leave and go tell Paterno. What the f*ck is wrong with that guy to just leave and let it continue?
Exactly the first thing I would have done would have been to get the kid out of there and then come back with a piece of sports equipment normally considered too large to fit inside a rectum.
This is how big-money colleges operate. Sweep scandal under the rug and pray it never comes out. I hope I'm wrong, but I bet this won't be the last time some type of despicable act was covered up because some mini-city university didn't want to lose booster cash or scholarships.
I was under the impression that all females loved Twilight.
That would be incorrect. Many do not.
Also, you can defriend your sister. Tell her it is because of Twilight. Maybe she will see the light.
I read the books when they came out (because I ready pretty much anything and everything) and I did see the first movie. I laughed out loud for the entire movie. To the point where I thought I was going to get kicked out; it was really ridiculous.
But, alas, my sister loves it. Obviously, we're VERY different people. She's a 32-year-old stay-at-home mom that loves Rascal Flatts and Twilight.

I also read the books and I'm a big fan but the movies are so horrible. I am going to see the next one with my friends and the last one wasn't quite as bad as the first. Kristen's acting is so bad it makes me want to stab myself sometimes.
Oh and Barry Hall is spot on. What sickens me most is they let the act go on, ignored it and now the students are throwing a fit because of the firing instead of being pissed that they covered up rape of children. If that were my school I'd be outraged and feel very unsafe. I'm sure those poor kids feel victimized all over again.

This. I thought the books were enjoyable, but movies are pretty painful. I will probably end up seeing the next one because I enjoy series and "finding" out what happens next... but not until long after it has been out of after it's on Netflix. The screaming girls are overwhelming.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
i tried reading the twilight books and i only got through the first two. i am proud to call myself a harry potter girl. but i would be lying if i didn't admit i want to bone robert pattinson (not when he looks freaky in the movies, but in real life) so i always catch the movies in theaters.
as far as the penn state business, i will NEVER understand why people get off on having sex with children. poop on each other, dress up as clowns, whatever.....but children and animals, i don't get. in a way it reminds me of a really horrific episode of "what would you do", where they put a bad situation in front of someone and see how they react. IMO silence is almost as bad as committing the act in question.
I finally got my degree in the mail, guess I can stop having dreams where I missed graduating by a credit.
NoD, I've been out of college for 6.5 years, and I still have dreams that I'm not graduating. It's usually the same dream: I've signed up for a class and then forgotten to go to it all semester.

I think I would have hit him with a fire extinguisher, then filled his lower intestine with as much flame retardant foam as possible. Pedophiles are a step below mass murderers in my opinion.

I have that same dream. I'll forget about class, and then show up 4 weeks into it and it is a class with weekly assignments so I'm already failing and it is too late to drop. And then I forget about it again for a week or too.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

The only thing I can think of, is that what he witnessed was so disgusting and disturbing that his brain really didn't know how to handle the information. I actually think that's one of the reasons why the sexual abuse of a child often goes unreported, is that it's such a hateful, terrible thing to contemplate that the mind rejects the possibility of such a thing happening. Like "I can't possibly be seeing this right now." And even though this idiot should have gone to the police himself, I understand why he'd go to Paterno - the man clearly runs Penn State. If some random grad student goes to the cops and accuses a 30-year coach at Penn State of raping a child, there's a solid chance the accusations don't get taken as seriously as they should. If the widely respected, legendary head coach of Penn State does the same, it's on like Donkey Kong.
But, the response to that one incident isn't even the most troubling thing. The grand jury reports that there were at least 8 fairly visible victims in the whole matter - you're telling me that there weren't rumors, whispers, or other outright instances of Sandusky getting caught by someone associated with the University or the football program? That's bullsh*t. The more it comes out, the more it looks as though PSU was running a closed-doors institution to rival that of the Vatican, where everything was handled in-house, so as to protect the sanctity of the place.
Yeah, honestly I'm more angered with Curley, Schultz, and Spanier (respectively, the Penn State AD, VP, and President) than I am with JoePa and McQueary, since it seems like the buck stopped with those three; in other words, McQueary reported it to his superior (JoePa), then JoePa reported it to his superior (Curley), but from there it didn't go anywhere. I could be wrong about that, but I've been reading about this all day and haven't seen anything that says Curley or the other two did what they should've done what Paterno told them what happened.
Not that McQueary and/or JoePa are completely blameless, obviously. It's really just an awful, terrible fucking situation all around. And now there are rumors that Sandusky was involved in PIMPING THESE SECOND MILE BOYS OUT TO DONORS?! You gotta be fucking kidding me. How in the fuck is that even possible?
I think that too much of the media's attention has focused on Joe Paterno and McQueary and not enough of the hard words people have been throwing around have been directed at the real miscreant in this situation, which is clearly Sandusky. Not only did he rape AT LEAST eight boys (forcing his first victim to perform oral sex on him TWENTY FUCKING TIMES...what the fuck?), he has negatively affected the lives of so many people who, if it weren't for his satanic behavior, wouldn't have any of the problems that now lay on their shoulders. There's obviously the children (some of whom will probably end up molesting children themselves, as the cycle goes), the childrens' families, Paterno, MacQueary, and anyone slightly involved in Penn State Football, current football players at Penn State, former football players at Penn State, current students at Penn State, former students at Penn State, and so on. I'd venture to say that one man has negatively affected the lives of thousands of people, and I can't really think of anything worse a person can do than that.
Oh, wait, yes I can: how about forcing a child to blow you over TWENTY times and then raping (at least) seven other kids?

Yea this is comforting.
I have variations of the dream, but the one is me driving down the highway and the speedometer showing 120, the amount of credits needed to graduate, and I can't get up to it.

This very thing happened to me, slightly different, in High School and what a nightmare it was but...ya know... in real life.

I fell asleep at my graduation because the bar everyone went to at Fordham had a 24 hour drinkup that ended at 7am (graduation line-up was at 8am). Needless to say, my graduation was a sloppy affair. The different colleges within the school were chanting stuff at each other, someone threw up walking up to the stage, and we had a streaker.

This is me wayyyy too often. But it's a high school class. Always math class first period. It follows EXACTLY what you just said.
