Speaking of goodness, tomorrow is the NFC Championship Game. So we are having breakfast here. We are doing sausage bacon this badass waffle recipe we got that makes them slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy past the thin crust. I prefer real maple syrup, which we have. But someone asked for strawberry syrup so I used this recipe but substituted pure cane sugar for white sugar to increase the depth. I also put in a half teaspoon of maple syrup. It was a first effort so thanks to Natasha. I was torn between this one which used lemon juice and another one which used vanilla extract. I also fire roasted some jalapeños for grits. We are going to try it with a little bit of Philadelphia cream cheese and a wedge of gold Bellavitano which I never tried. Hopefully the combination of that and the roasted peppers will make a decent pot of grits.
So I find out we are also hosting a small bbq during the game. Made some semi fresh salsa by using two tubs of local pico along with pace which is all cut with more roasted jalapeños and a Serrano, a bunch of fresh cilantro, and juice of a lime along with some salt and a squeeze of agave nectar. I’m thinking I’ll be pigging the fuck out.
It's not. The sauce is the best part followed by the bread/crust. Cheese is last tbh.
I am not a huge pizza fan but I hate the sauce. I prefer a white sauce with cheese with super thin crust.
Oh no. I'm a sauce guy and hate non red sauce pizza. Though I think at least some of that has to do with not having good quality pizza with white sauce, pesto sauce, etc.

New Haven probably makes the best pizza in America, though I don't like clams enough to appreciate white clam.
