We have a dishwasher. I rarely use it and just do dishes in the sink.
We bought a dishwasher for our last house so that it would match the new fridge and stove we bought. I don’t think we used it a single time.
We tried the one in our apartment just to see if it worked. It does not. We use it as a dish drying rack.
I made Kyle hand wash dishes for years in the rental we were in. One day he asked about the dishwasher and why we didn't use it. I told him to try it out...it was so fucking loud and obnoxious he continued to only hand wash the dishes.

the benefit of a dishwasher is it can use much hotter water than human hands can stand, thus increasing cleanliness.
we handwash all our pots and pans and our chefs knife. and our cutting board because it's so easy to handwash. but everything else goes in the dishwasher.
our landlord told us our dishwasher was able to be hooked up to an app and is a 'smart' dishwasher, but i don't get it. if it doesn't load itself who the hell cares if you can turn it on while you're away.

Yeast. and the process of transferring sucking. Thus causing the balance of the keg's material inside to separate, causing more foam, and a kinda of weird taste because you can't really shake a keg back into proper taste.

Unrelated, but it's bullshit how I can work an unexpected extra 4 hours that leave me feeling dog-tired when I leave work but now it's almost three hours after I first laid down to go to sleep and I'm wide awake. I lay down and almost immediately start daydreaming song lyrics, and the kicker is that they're actually half-decent so then of course I gotta write them down because pre-sleep ideas are devilishly evanescent. I've read a bunch about the biology of sleep and I actually have decent sleep habits at this point, but some nights it just escapes me. Which would be fine on a weekend; tonight not so much. Guarantee you though that Friday night will roll around and I'll start yawning around 10pm. Because what is life but a relentless display of irony?

I've read a bunch about the biology of sleep and I actually have decent sleep habits at this point, but some nights it just escapes me. Which would be fine on a weekend; tonight not so much. Guarantee you though that Friday night will roll around and I'll start yawning around 10pm. Because what is life but a relentless display of irony?
Been there. I've also read a little bit about options but haven't found what really works for me. I know for a fact why getting sleepy/nodding off on the couch is different from laying in bed and readying for a nightful sleep but it still doesn't help me. I'm a person that can not comfortably/easily fall asleep on a plane/train/non-bed situation and I always longed for being able to easily pass out and sleep through distractions. But even when comfortable in a bed I have so many issues.
My main problems when trying to sleep is that I can't find a comfortable position and assume I have issues with circulation (if I turn on my side and put my hands in some spots they'll lose feeling and I won't sleep through the night) and also being a light sleeper who will focus on any noise (especially if repeated) that will keep me up. I have so many issues with trying to get a solid night of sleep but I also haven't done all that I can do to try to make that work so part of it is definitely on me. It just drives me nuts when I'm laying in bed and in my head keep repeating the same 2 or 3 lines of some random pop song that I don't even like/can't remember the last time I heard.

I can relate to when it's a physical thing you can't really do anything about. I have back spasms and certain positions exacerbate them so comfortable options are limited.
The most helpful thing for me was forcing myself to maintain a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekend nights as long as I'm not out doing something. When I was a kid I used to think that staying up late was so badass for some reason so I'd try to always stay up late when I could, and now as an adult I sometimes have to remind myself "Y'know, you don't have to wait until you can't keep your eyes open to go to bed."
The hardest thing for me is staying away from screens (like this one) before bedtime. They suppress the release of melatonin so I try to switch to reading when I remember. Also I def recommend using f.lux or similar tint-changing software to reduce eye strain at night. It makes a difference.
If the science behind all this is interesting to you I recommend the book Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. I found it interesting and helpful.

Could you do some kind of ambient noise machine to block out random noises? We started using rain sounds when we were moving because it helped keep one of our dogs from jumping up at every little noise in hotels, but we’ve continued using them for two years now because it’s good for blocking out little noises in the night. Doesn’t help with finding a comfortable position though.
I don’t generally have a problem sleeping, but from time to time (mostly if I drink), I have the problem with a couple of lines from a song playing in my head. Now I sleep with audiobooks playing through headphones. (I’ve mentioned them before, I think, but I got some that are made for sleeping. Mine are from Sleepphones.com). It seems like it should keep me up, but it doesn’t at all as long as it’s a book I’ve already listened to.
I bought two mint plants and a lavender plantation Lowe’s just after we moved in. Both are thriving on our porch. Made a nice, strong Tuesday mojito.

Last time I tried to grow it indoors and failed miserably. They got all the mites and mold. It was awful. This time I just keep them outside on the porch. Water when the soil is dry to the touch. A little miracle gro once a week.

I have sleep issues but have found that mediation and a consistent bedtime has really helped me. I also have nerve damage in my right hand due to the break and I have restless leg syndrome that gets really bad when I am tired. I have found that sleeping with a pillow helps my arm from falling asleep due to the nerve damage with might help you itrainmonkeys as well. I actually noticed my right arm getting numb awhile before the break and would use a pillow on occasion and it helped, but since the break I can't sleep without it or I wake up in pain and numbness.
Only issue with fertilizing mint and other herbs is that you have to be careful not to overdo it and lose the fragrance and taste to vegetative growth. If you can find the balance, you'll be fine.
