Obviously you can make a strong case for either. For me Andre. Kendrick is more grounded and focused, which is great, but I'm a sucker for a bombastic and slightly off kilter artist, Andre ticks those boxes.
Like when I see Kendrick live I'm in awe of him and thrilled by his skill, when I see Andre 3000 live I'm like "HOLY SHIT THAT'S ANDRE 3000 OMG OMG OMG"

The NYT is a rag and the only good thing to come out of it is the Popcast.
I'll post the relevant "advice" below to save you a click the NYT does not deserve:
Q: Before the pandemic hit, I started seeing a new man; since the lockdowns, we’ve texted every day. On our first date he told me about his Crohn’s disease. He has it pretty bad — he has to follow a strict diet and goes to the doctor often. I know I’m being selfish, but is it unethical to not date him because of it? I don’t know what to do to support him, and I am worried about the future. He said it’s very likely his intestinal issues could get worse, and his life expectancy may be shorter. I want to shield myself from the pain, but I also feel like a terrible person for even thinking about it. Any advice? Name Withheld
A: Once someone is truly a friend or a lover, you have all kinds of responsibilities to them that you didn’t have before. So for example, it would be deplorable to abandon a spouse because he or she has become seriously ill. That’s part of what’s meant by saying a marriage is to endure “in sickness and in health.” Of course, this can turn out to be a promise someone can’t keep. But precisely because a partnership is for the long term, you can appropriately consider what your lives together would be like before you enter into one.
When a potential partner is already seriously ill, committing to this person may be committing to a life as a caregiver. (The specific condition you mention has a wide range of severity; it can be mild and well controlled or genuinely debilitating.) You don’t owe it to anyone to accept that burden; indeed, if you think you don’t want such a life, you have a good reason not to enter into the relationship. It doesn’t make you a terrible person to think about the issue. The terrible thing would be to make the commitment and then to be unable to keep it.
Go fuck yourself. People with disabilities aren't burdens, although it damn sure feels like it sometimes. If a disability is the thing holding you back from loving someone, that's your problem. Not theirs.
I can't tell you the number of people who have explicitly told me to my face that they wouldn't date somebody with a disability. It's disheartening. Not because I'm into that particular person, but because I always know they're not the only one.
y'all I just submitted a career-defining NIH grant. i've been struggling a lot the past two months balancing COVID, protests, and writing this behemoth. This was honestly harder than writing my dissertation. But it's submitted, it's in. I'm gonna spend today sitting next to the pool, drinking coors light, and playing uno with the kiddos. Regardless if i get funded, just getting it all together feels like a massive accomplishment and I'm so relieved to be done with it.
Congrats and good luck! I haven't written myself yet, but I've helped my PI for some NIH grants, so I know how hard it can be. Now I need some motivation to finish writing my paper and submit.
Do it! Once you get going, you'll knock it out. My wife's been struggling with getting a paper written for a few months now, and today just locked herself in the "office" (our master bathroom) and knocked out a huge portion. Plan a specific block of the day for writing, and hold yourself to it. And it feels amazing where you're done.

Current or past LA-area peeps such as crazykittensmile, Fred, gorblata, silver06 and anyone else: how is living there? I'm really getting into screenwriting and moviemaking as a whole, so I am contemplating the idea of living there at some point. My fiancée and I were trying to find our new home before COVID hit, and San Diego came up as a possible spot. I've only been to LA once during Coachella weekend one; we flew in and out of LAX and got a taste for the lovely LA > Palm Springs traffic.

Right, I gotta finish reading yours.
I got about 1/3rd of the way through, but started it at like 3 am one night cuz I'm dumb. There were some basic things that I noted right off the top but I'll finish it first.

I'm in San Diego and it's a great city but very expensive. Close enough to drive up for LA shows (someday in the future) or whatever you need to do up there, but not quite as busy/congested. I'd say Orange County might be a good middle ground, but it's pretty boring (no culture/history to speak of) and also very republican.

I will say this though: I wanted to keep reading after the ~30 pages I got through.

Good to hear! My brother lives in San Diego and loves it. I gotta visit LA and explore a bit if/when things calm down...eventually.

I love Los Angeles - moved out here in late 2011 and haven't seriously thought of moving anywhere else since then. Other than the two standard LA complaints that there's no getting around (1. Traffic and 2. Expensive), I don't give a lot of credence to a lot of the other anti-LA arguments (superficial people, too spread out, etc.). For traffic, I think you really have to just plan to live close to where you'll be working (and who knows if traffic levels will get back to peak level if a decent chunk of people switch to remote working) and for it being expensive, it's still slightly better than SF/NYC and just a sunshine premium you have to get used to paying and/or budget appropriately.
There's definitely a part of LA that suits everyone, and it's actually pretty fun seeing friends/acquaintances move to LA and see what part of LA sucks them in - the trendier vibe of Eagle Rock / Highland Park, the nightlife of WeHo, the laid back South Bay beach community feel, the convenience of Culver City, etc. I had one buddy I knew decently well from high school who went to USC and knew the area well by the time I moved out here, but other than that I knew just about nobody and found my way after a 3-6 month transition period (obviously easier if you're with your fiance). I'm from Ohio and went to college in the midwest (and consider myself fairly introverted) yet had no problem finding people with similar interests that I felt comfortable with. I also love how many great 2-3 hour driving trips are close by - Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Los Olivos / Solvang, San Diego, Big Bear, etc. - where you can get away for a couple nights at a decent rate and it feels like a real vacation.
I'd say if you get an opportunity to pursue your passion out here, definitely a great idea. Any specific questions or if you start getting really serious about it and want to know more, shoot me a DM/text.

I live in Santa Barbara, but I've traveled to LA so many times that I have some idea (I'm also considering to move down there within the next year or so). LA is nothing like NYC, as in there are so many different neighborhoods with various vibes, which I appreciate more and more over time. Traffic is bad in general from what I've experienced - but you should be good as long as where you live is close to where you work. Public transportation is not great, but it's getting better each year (and expected to get even better by 2028 Olympics). Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
-The most personal: Chicago being geographically above Minneapolis -Diagonal Canada -The crossing from Newark (??) to Rotterdam that I guess just goes through the English Channel or something -Similarly, the crossing from Jakarta to Auckland that I guess just goes around Australia -The line that seamlessly travels from Mexico City to Santo Domingo to San Juan to Portugal -Germany having twice as many train stops than the entirety of Africa -Even in our wildest fantasies of Africa maybe having trains one day, it *still* doesn’t go all the way to South Africa for some reason -The direct train line from Pyongyang to Seoul
