I was about to give you shit about being touchy about your region's food then I remembered I had a twenty minute conversation with a client and contractor yesterday about eggs fried with any other lard (a sad pathetic imitation) vs. eggs fried with bacon grease (the best) and the decline of the quality of available lard over the last thirty years.
Can you have this argument with my 16 yr old? I have been cooking eggs (and everything else I can) with bacon grease for forever and my son has decided that butter is better for eggs. It is really, actually kinda sad... Plus, now I have to make his shit first because I have to use butter.
It's not an argument though. Just keep the faith that this is his form of idiotic teenage rebellion, and he will apologize profusely for it when he gets older.

Considering he doesn't skip school, gets straight A's, hates all types of smoke, doesn't do drugs and is NOTHING like I was at his age, I will take this form of rebellion any day!

Maybe he just needs a toke to appreciate some bacon-grease eggs? I dunno. I'm not a parent.
Long story short: I used to play trivia at a coffee shop, with 4-5 people older than my parents. The coffee shop ended up ending trivia night, but Mrs. LD and I still reunite a couple times a year with the old (pun not intended) team for a game - in the basement of a Catholic church 45 minutes away.
It seems like every time the church announces a date for the next contest. There's always some show that either I have tickets for, or wanted to get tickets to. Just got a phone call, and sure enough - conflicts with something I was thinking about going to.

it seems like your shows are interfering with everything in your life these days haha

There was a time before I met my girlfriend, where I was going to a show on average once every two weeks - if not every weekend.
Now that I have a life and long term goals, I'm down to about once a month. But that once a month still creates conflicts

Well I guess...just hope he doesn't go snooping in my room to do that.
The Glen Hansard show in Cleveland sold out. I've made no attempts at getting Sufjan Stevens or Seth Avett/Jessica Mayfield do Elliott Smirh tickets and I have tickets to two shows that I forgot about in the next two weeks. Oh and I'm rationalizing how I'm going to do Roo > Firefly > Electric Forest this year.
I don't know what all of this says about me. But I feel like its indicative of a problem, but also a sign that I'm growing up?

I'd pick one of the three, probably Roo.
DOWN WITH YOUR LOGIC AND RESPONSIBLE DECSIONS! I wanna do them aaallllll
Actually, my records on all the games I currently play are pretty modest, especially since billypilgrim has become some kind of wizard at Scramble.
I know it's poor form to go back days and days in this thread (you babies can't help it that you've been trained to have short attention spans), but NothingButFlowers or nothingbutwhomeverthefucksheisn'tthisweek just beat me by 300 points.

this is my life. I got 4 tickets in the mail last week, 5 today, will get 3 more next week, and then I drunk purchase hangout tickets, I might go to big ears, and then roo obvi. hell, maybe pitchfork too.
we need a support group - aka teleporting so we can all go to shows together.

yea, if i do firefly it'll probably be alone. my cousin said she'd go with me. but idk how she's going to make it work the weekend after roo since shes going to roo with me already.
What y'all need to do is spread the wealth and send some of your tickets to those in need of shows. The Sturgill show last night was my first show since September and I was going crazy. That ticket saved my sanity. I'm sure there are others out there who need your tickets more than you do! I think this should have gone in the drunken rambling thread but it would have had no context over there so whatever.
I have tickets to all the shows listed in my signature, tickets to Buku, jazz fest, bonnaroo and voodoo. Will be purchasing tickets to ACL as well. I haven't been to a show this year yet so I'm going to Zola Jesus tomorrow to save me from withdrawals. It doesn't get better as you get older ladies, it just becomes what people associate you with. My boss thinks it's cool that I'm so passionate about music. I think it's pretty awesome too, even if my wallet disagrees with me.
PS hungover and boyfriend dragging me to garage sales. I haven't been hungover in forever.

EDIT note: I been looking for 10 minutes to get this right, and this is the best I can find. The actual clip starts "someday you'll thank me for this boy".

Damn you really are passionate about music. I actually kinda have a bucket list before I get married and that is to go see the Northern Lights and go attend a festival in every continent. Oh and go party in Ibiza.
and
What are ya'll looking to buy at a garage sale? (just curious)

Why before you get married? You could do that with your partner.

I don't know actually. I guess people I know who are married constantly tell me to do stuff (like attending festivals and stuff) before I get married.
If I ever find a girl who is as passionate about festivals like I am, trust me I will put a ring on it. But so far no dice.

I couldn't be with someone who wasn't down for festivals. My plan is when I retire to travel the world one festival at a time. I have never been married but was in a relationship for 13 yrs and that was part of the plan... Apparently marriage wasn't, but the guy I'm seeing now is down with that plan too. I couldn't be in a relationship with someone who wouldn't fest.
