I probably would have enjoyed a trip to Disney as a kid before I hit those awkward teenage years. I don't feel like I missed out on anything special having never been.
If you have an iphone, downloading imessage onto your computer can be a godsend.
Adding to this. I've been using Pushbullet for about a week and I love it. You download an app and a chrome extension and it pushes all notifications (texts, emails, etc) from your phone to your desktop. It is AWESOME. It really helps when I'm busy because turning my attention from my computer to my phone can really derail what I'm doing. I can answer a text right from my desktop and then keep working away. Plus clicking on an email notification will bring it right up instead of having to refresh my gmail tab then click open the link.
Apparently you can push stuff from your computer to your phone too but I haven't messed with that.
I went to Disneyworld when I was like 14 at Christmas time. It was fun. But I prefer Disneyland. Feels like home. I've also been to Disneyland more times than I can count. Toontown is my favorite.

As someone who grew up going to Disneyland, I found I've enjoyed it more as an adult. I think it's a bit overwhelming as a kiddo.
I live 90 minutes north of disney if anyone ever needs a couch to crash on.
I had a friend spend the first 20 years of his life an hour north of Disney and never went there or any other amusement park before moving away. He has no idea how awesome roller coasters are, poor guy.
I have never been to Disney and really have no desire to go.
It's really all about Epcot.
Funny thing is that I've been there for band related things (Marching Band/Jazz/Wind Ensembles) back in high school and it's weirdly overwhelming with the amount of things to do in that place. And as a theater kid it's super amusing seeing the workers there have to keep character all day - (and also a little sad)

I would go to Six Flags as a kid. The last time I went I was around 18 and didn't enjoy it much. The roller coasters made my testicles feel like they were in my stomach and the Looney Tunes weren't as cute or entertaining. I guess I like being overwhelmed. My first festival experiences are still by far my most fun and memorable.

Yeah, people who live around here that don't go to the theme parks blow my mind. I'll tell you what though, living down here around all these parks still doesn't really show you how great coasters can be. We have recently been getting some pretty kick ass coasters but I went Six Flags over Georgia in October for the first time since I was like 4 and it was heaven on Earth for coaster junkies plus it's wayyyy cheaper than than our theme parks because they don't have to pay huge sums of money for the rights to their rides. I'm just saying, our THEME parks are awesome as a whole (being submersed in imaginary worlds and far off cities and it focuses on the entire experience) but AMUSEMENT parks, like six flags and what not, are a whole different beast

Does Toontown still exist at Disneyland? It's been gone at Magic Kingdom for years

Quack man, I haven't been on a roller coaster in years, hmu if u wanna go to isles of adventure or something one day
I only went to disney world & univseral studios once when I was in the 4th grade. I was scared shitless of most rides at the time, so I'm sure I was a super lame companion. now I would want to ride ALL THE RIDES! I would love to go back.

Idk actually. I haven't been in years. My brother just went a few weeks ago tho. I'll have to ask him.

I went to Disney World a bunch as a kid and I was never overly impressed. The best time was, back in the day, they used to have 'Grads Night'. They would close the park down to only Seniors and you could run the park all night and ride all the ride and they have live music throughout the park (they had Boys to Men when we went, because it was 1993 and 'So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday' was everyone's senior song). It was the best time I have ever had at Disney World. Apparently kids are shits now and they had to stop doing that.
I will say taking my kid when he was 4yrs old for 4th of July week was pretty cool too. He is very tall and rode on the Tower of Terror and then had a melt-down in the Haunted House later that day. Good times. But he is a roller coaster junkie like I am.
I'm terrified of heights. Last time I went to Cedar Point I waited in line with my friend for 3 hours to ride the mellenium force. Got on and ha a panic attack. They had to release all the seat lock bars and to let me off and she rode alone. I feel bad about that to this day.

Universal Studios is the shit. Lots of cool stuff. I really want to go back now that I'm an "adult".
Fixed
Correct.
I should have clarified that I meant "now that I'm of legal drinking age".
The last time I was down there I was 17 years old and so I couldn't enjoy any of the nightlife. I would just see the bright lights and smiling grown ups walking to their party zones while I went back and watched TV in the hotel room. Room service was on point, though

They do it at Univeral/Islands of Adventure now instead and they always have a concert with some big, popular act (I think it was Pitbull my senior year.) But yes, the kids suck, that is the event the workers try their hardest to avoid every year. Because other events only kinda suck due to the park(s) being packed, but during "Grad Bash" it was way too packed, the hours are extra late and the kids are huge pain in the ass. I really don't understand how/why the highschool kids can act the way they do because I'm not much older than them and I would never have behaved the way some of them do at that event

Grad Bash? Is that what it is called now? Interesting. I will tell you, one of our teachers got fired for having sex with another teacher and smoking pot with her favorite students. Also, it was not packed when we did it, but I want to say it was relatively new. It was pretty awesome. I am glad that I got to experience it. I think Universal is a cooler theme park and has better rides, so that would be funner, but it wasn't even around when I was a senior. God that makes me feel old.
Just what I expected a cheese-eatin' francophile to say!
I went to DisneyLand back in the day (my brother and cousin went to DisneyWorld too, but I was too young... #FWP). My brother got chosen to pull the sword from the stone in the kids' play and was proclaimed King of Disneyland for the day - as if a 10-year old isn't going to lord that over his little brother constantly.
I loved it but to be honest, I think I have fonder memories of Universal Studios. All those mascot costumes creeped me out after a while. Plus, the DeLorean.
