After falling victim to marketing, I got a SiriusXM subscription. I had it for two months, and I just called and canceled that shit. Totally not worth it. I found myself listen to my own music 75% of the time anyways.
I primarily have SiriusXM for Stern, but as I listen to more and more podcasts I find myself listening to less and less Stern. But I still love SiriusXM for the car. I have a receiver with the "xtra channels" or whatever, and one of them is Tom Petty's Buried Treasure shows 24/7, which is the greatest channel of music ever. First he is a fantastic DJ, so weird and funny, and he is always playing the weirdest oldest shit, I love it. I also love Jam On (of course) and 1st Wave. Liquid Metal is good as is Electric Area. Lithium I listen to a lot cause I'm a 90s kid. XMU is surprisingly bad for me most of the time, it seems they choose to play the worst of new "indie" music. Seems like everytime I switch to its just some quiet minimalist synth with a breathy female or doughy male vocal floating over it.
Anyway I love Sirius and will probably stick with it for a while.
Exchange between 2 guys from high school I'm still friends with on Facebook:
Person 1's status: "... and I hear California knows how to party!" Person 2's comment: "Here*" Person 1's comment: "Since when did you become all grammatically correct haha?"
Oh side note I learned recently: if you're ordering something and you're Prime, but you choose a slower delivery, you actually get "money back". My mom chose it a few weeks ago and got a dollar or two to use in Amazon streaming/ebooks. I used it last week and got credit for a free Prime Pantry delivery ($5.99). A great option if you're buying something that you don't need right away!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I have a deep, deep obsession with Lithium. I have never even had Sirius, but I'll walk into a bar/restaurant and after a song or two I start squealing in excitement when I realize they are playing Lithium.

I listen to Alt Nation, XMU, Fraction, Spectrum, 1st Wave, Lithium, Stern and that new station, Classic College Radio for the most part.

What is prime pantry? It sounds like something that would make my kitchen happier.

Classic College Radio, thats the one I was forgetting. Great station. Faction is good too, and I also occasionally throw on Hip-Hop Nation and Backspin.

I did adore First Wave. The only other channel that I loved was Faction, but the problem was that it seemed like every time I turned it on there was a talk show and no music. I couldn't really justify paying the money for one channel I really liked, and another that I half liked. I guess I just never really got into listening to radio shows with hosts and all that - I just want to listen to the music.

I've never really felt the need to use Prime Pantry before, but with a free shipment I definitely will. It's a Prime member option where for the $6 price, you can fill a big box with items that are not offered with free Prime shipping because of weight and/or bulk like soup, sauces, soda, cleaning supplies, paper towels...

I was all about that...until I noticed the credit expires after ~2 months. BS. I now make them give me my 2 day shipping even if I don't need it that soon. If they didn't expire, I'd probably do the no rush fairly frequently.
A sick baby just might be the most heartbreaking thing that I've ever had to endure.
I don't have a child of my own in my care to feed and spank and such, but the night I took care of my nephew with night terrors (age two, unable to articulate his fears aside from horrible wailing) was a total revelation for me. [Feels, feels, feels]
You lucky guy; keep depositing that love for em - you'll need the compound interest in the bank account by the time the first one of them crashes your car at 5mph in a deserted parking lot.
Long, beautiful row to hoe. Bumper crop at the end will be worth it.
Enjoy, you poor sleepless soul.
this was the view out my apartment windows in college for a little over a year:
I've had Sirius for about four years now, and really like it.
The All Out Show (on Shade 45) is some of the most hilarious stuff I've ever heard. The Spectrum might as well be Newport Folk radio, as a third of the songs on there are NFF acts and many others could be. I listen to far too much 80s music and/or yacht rock for my own good. I'm a little bummed there's no more angry far-left types on the liberal talk station, but then again not hearing political stuff has been a good thing lately.
Going to Roo alone for the first time. Friends can't go, but I'm really trying to have a great time even if it's with some new people. Let me know what to expect and if anyone would like to go!

i miss my sirius so much, but they repeatedly took lots of money from me without authorization so i had to cancel. rude jude would pop up on one of the cosmo radio shows once in a while and was just so great every time. such an honest and hilarious guy.
It's true. Yesterday my lady and I met Jim James. We caught him heading into the venue for soundcheck. However after sound check, Chelsea and I still the only people waiting in line, he came back out to talk to us. He arrived with a handful of vinyl and a poster that he had just signed. The whole band signed the poster. He gave them all to us and told us he really appreciated us coming out and making it through the thunderstorm. We talked for a bit about the new album and tour and how I couldn't wait to hear the new music that night. He gave us a test pressing of his solo album, his George Harrison tribute, and two Woody Guthrie tribute albums. All signed. He is the innovator. I feel like I've been lucky to experience a lot in my concert going career, but this was next level.

Today I randomly remembered that I never canceled my hotel reservation for Coachella. After a good 10 minutes of searching my inbox, I find the reservation - turns out today at 4pm is the last time to cancel and avoid a charge. I remembered just in the nick of time. Whew.

Ha that's so funny that you just did that today, because about an hour ago I remembered to go through my inbox and find the hotel that I had tentatively reserved for Shaky Knees (dont wanna talk about the fact that I'm not going, blehhhh), and cancelled it. Today is the day 4 hotel cancellations across the land of inforoo I guess.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
