Ohio State University announced it has developed a dime-sized silicon chip that injects genetic code into skin cells which then turns those cells into any type of tissue (brain, vascular, muscle, possibly organs, etc.). It's anticipated to treat car crash victims and possibly soldiers injured on the battlefield. The hypothesis is that they'd essentially use the skin as an agricultural plot where you could grow any type of cell. Kind of wild.
This is a breakthrough technology, because it's the first time cells have been reprogrammed in a live body. Current cell therapy methods are high risk, like those that introduce a virus, and include multiple steps, a new study published in Nature Nanotechnology points out. There are no known side effects to TNT and treatment is less than a second, Sen said

this weekend i get to go to a festival and the ex is finally moving her fucking shit out of my house after being broke up for approaching 6 months, fucking stoked!!!!
if somebody tells you not to touch their stuff and it's like 3 boxes and you move it into a closet in the same room is that really a big deal? lol

Congrats on the ex moving out, I am sure that has been a rough/weird/uncomfortable transition. I don't see moving boxes into a closet, in the same room they were already in as a big deal, but some people might.

“I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things. I know what I’m doing, and I listen to a lot of people, I talk to a lot of people, and at the appropriate time I’ll tell you who the people are. But my primary consultant is myself and I have, you know, a good instinct for this stuff.”

Kyle leaves on Sunday for college and to move into his dorm. I am going to miss him so much and not just because he washes the dishes, cuts the yard and does the million things that I yell at him to do because I am too lazy to get up from under my mermaid blanket on the couch. He has packed all his stuff up and it is in the living room waiting to be loaded and moved and I am just sitting in on the couch like this:

There was a similar scenario at our home 5 years ago, before I move to NYC. Interestingly, my father was tearing up every morning while we were having a breakfast instead of my mom (she was probably crying when I'm not around). Having not seen my dad cry before, it was a very weird feeling for me (one that I didn't like much to be honest).
It will take some time, but I'm sure you'll get used to it after a while. And he's not changing continents after all, is he?

He's not even leaving the state, he's going to be about 3 hours away. And I am sure I will get used to him being gone, but it was just the two of us for 90% of his life and it is just going to take time. I was a kid when I had him, he's been my #1 for 20 years. One of our things is we tell each other, no matter what it is always you and me.

Things happening in life have made me poor for a minute, which is sad. I had grand aspirations to use my spare money on this next paycheck to get Thievery Corp tix and when I finally had time and resources to go get them they were sold out! Bummer.
When one door closes, another one opens. Turns out Cut Copy just got listed here for a December show. Tix acquired and I'm super excited. Let's goooo

Inforoosters in KY TN OH and surrounding areas ---
I need a favor and I'm hoping someone here can help me. I've recently back to the US from Thailand, as most of you probably know.
Sept 1-3 is Terrapin Hill Harvest Fest not far from me. I'd love to have the chance to go, and it'd be my first real music fest in 4 years. The problem is supplies. I sold all my camping stuff when I moved away, and it's not going to be feasible to replace it anytime soon.
Anyone wanna help me out by letting me borrow a few things? A tent, tarp, and cooler would be clutch. Alternatively if anyone close is selling old gear hit me up.
now I might graduate a semester early with a BA in Journalism and a Minor in Film Studies. For a guy who essentially wasted a semester because his brain went haywire I'd say that's pretty good.
I really don't know how to feel about this. On the one hand, it's exciting. At the start of the year I wasn't sure I'd graduate on time and here I am. I'm pushing for a major and a minor to get it done early.
On the other hand, it's absolute terrifying and bittersweet. I like it here.
