Its creepy for me to think that she has an internet presence. I'm also betting she is a member of some super-crazy, ultra-secret extreme coupon clippers message board. Kinda like Inforoo but insa...

You guys should check out Sarah Jaffe on Kimmel tonight. She is an indie-rock/folk singer from Denton, TX who has been big on the Dallas scene for awhile now. She has recently opened for Norah Jones and New Multitudes and has been gaining some nationwide attention by showing up on a few sites and magazines best albums of 2012 lists.
The Felice Brothers just got added as the opening act to Mumford and Sons...
In other pretty sweet openers news, Langhorne Slim is going to be opening for Grace Potter for some shows in the new year. An odd but awesome mix.
I got excited at the Felice opening for Mumford news and just went to check the DC shows - no Felice Brothers (whom I really like), but Ben Howard's opening. This is good news also.
So Macca w/ Nirvana. This is going to be fuckiing terrible, right?
Wel...
"I didn't really know who they were," the 70-year-old Beatles legend told The Sun. "They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said, 'Whoa? You guys haven't played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me, 'That's Nirvana. You're Kurt.' I couldn't believe it."
why are you an jerkstore? i made like 10 post in like 7 months and never really stated what bands i like.
you like kanye who doesn't know how to play any instruments. he is an attention whore who can't play any instruments. so yes i will respect talented musicians not people who can talk with music playing on a cd player and calling themselves musicians/rappers/artist.
When people say shitt like this, my immediate assumption is that they're racist.
and to elaborate because this argument does always pisses me off: Your voice is an instrument. The main reason hip-hop exists is because folks took the initiative to learn beats, rhythm, and stanzas through bangin out percussion on tables and weird gear - and using their voice to make sounds.
and also Kanye knows how to play keys and synth as well, let alone knowing how to use analog/digital gear better then some club musicians.

FULL DISCLOSURE:
I really only like production-driven hip-hop. Kanye for instance. Stuff that's more lyric/flow focused, while I can appreciate it, doesn't really do it for me.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but anyone who thinks racism is not still a very real issue, even with the younger generations, is kidding themselves.
Unfortunately, people associate hip-hop with a specific race, and therefore people with preconceived notions about certain races have those same notions about hip-hop music in general. Obviously the fact that these thoughts are believed in general is despicable, but I think it does play a large role in the ignorance surrounding hip-hop.
But guys like Waka Flocka don't do the situation any favors by playing to stereotypes to sell records.
