I'm watching the stream of the Hangout Festival. Looks like the RFID chips have attached themselves to that bunch now. One day, we will just have a chip in our wrist. Events like a festival, we could just go online and download the correct code for that event. Hummm buy stock in RFID chips lolz .. cr****

I hate the big brother aspect of the RFID's but you can't argue with the fantastical logistical improvements they've been able to do with the entry statistics. You know nobody had to wait more than like an hour to get in last year, right? I <3 RFID's for that reason.

"Human chipping has seemingly higher stakes than merchandise tagging, and RFID critics are concerned that human chipping may one day become mandatory. When the company CityWatcher.com chipped two of its employees in 2006, these fears spun out of control. CityWatcher.com insisted that the employees were not forced to be chipped -- they volunteered for the microchip implants for easier access to secured vaults where confidential documents are stored. Other employees declined the implants, and their positions with the company were unaffected."
Hummm....Guess I am behind the times eh .... cr****

(Slaps forehead.) Which is why Bonnaroo wants us to show up at the toll booths with our wristbands already on. I get it now.

Aren't they also used to track what stages are filling up (IE:type and times for music).

microchip implants are on the horizon for widespread use for sure. applications will range from encoding a person's medical status (i.e., diabetes, allergies- important info for EMS in case of loss of consciousness), to frequent flier account info being stored in your wrist and scanned at the airport. see below for an article about an ingestible microchip for tracking medication use:

I'm sure they do look at that data, but it's can't be relied on 100% because you are not required to scan or "check-in" at those areas.
However, you are required to scan in at the tollbooths and when entering/exiting Centeroo. The data the RFID's provide for those points of interest will include a sample of all festival goers.

You are correct, sir. The AC rep at Moog said, in addition to the security aspect of it (i.e. no fake wristbands), they do use the check-ins for data mining purposes to analyze when the biggest number of entries and exits to the festival and Centeroo are, how many people Centeroo has at any given time, etc.

I think I posted this b4, but we went out of the venue and didn't scan out one time. They almost didn't let us back in because "big brother" said we were already in the venue lolz ... cr****

Ahhhhh.... I was thinking the sensors were/could be installed at the tents, etc. also. Like those tollbooths that you can drive through at 55 if you have an account registered. Just a theory. But yours seems more accurate as mine is speculation.

That is to prevent you from slipping off your wristband and having a friend carry it out and give it someone else for entry.

Of course but that's why you are suppose to put them on so you can't get them off unless you are friggin Houdini ...., The first day especially it is incumbent for the LEO's to check them. When we walked out, it would not be an exaggeration to say, the exit we walked out of, was big enough for a elephant It was the truck entrance/exit, left of one of the regular entrances. So it goes. In the end, we just smiled, and it all worked out. cr****
It's weeks like this past week (and specifically today) that reminds me of how lucky I am. Some people leave the world empty- thing left unsaid and acts undone. And others leave this world and THEY ROCKED EVERY MINUTE. I can only hope I am one of those. I am left thinking of all my Inforoo family and how supportive and wonderful you all are. Make sure you say everything you want to before it's too late.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I hope you are not offended but that sounds exactly what I tell myself every morning. Sure some days don't go the way we wanted or expected, but ya know, someone knows why things happen like they do: So "You better watch out...." Didn't want to get real serious this early. R&R, smiles, and good people. "Oh What A Life." cr****
I just edit until someone posts something under me haha. I guess we all need to carry lasers around with us now so we can zap the mannequins at stores now (I think that might work, not sure). Face recognition if you saw the articles. cr****
