I once saw cracker/camper van beethoven at bonnaroo and it was rad.
I once lived in an apartment after Lowery had moved and used to get his mail all the time. Slack motherfucker, all he had to do was walk the two blocks for a change of address form.
Was gonna post an album but my search turned up this gem.

Slack motherquacker
I wish I would have kept some of that mail now. Something about getting a Pottery Barn catalog addressed to Mr. David Lowery that I still find hysterical.
The first punk "supergroup" in a post Dookie world. Billie Joe playing guitar and singing with Aaron Cometbus on drums, Bill from Monsula and Sarah Kirsch (then known as Mike) from Fuel/Sawhorse/John Henry West on second guitar. It ruled and I still miss this version of Billie Joe.
Man it's really really good. Reminds me that his voice sounds like someone (even in Wand) and I can't figure it out. But maybe it's just him.
Is it Thom Yorke? Angeles and Birds of Paradise sound like In Rainbows demos to me.
Also, I concur. It's really good.
I wasn't thinking Thom, but now that you mention it I hear it. It's a weird thing I can't shake - I don't identify the sound of his voice with him, but someone else that I just can't think of. it's weird. I don't really like Dawes, and I think part of it is because his voice is just too jackson browne and i kinda hate jackson browne. or kevin parker sounding a bit too much like john lennon sometimes. I just get thrown for a loop. cory hanson's voice does that for me but I dunno where to place it and so I get this unresolved feeling in my head. which for this record is kind of apt; that's some wandering americana that makes me think i'm in a cormac mccarthy novel sometimes (which is a good thing).

Thank you for articulating the sound of this album or me before I try to bully all my friends into checking it out haha.

death | ...for the whole world to see
anyone that likes that black pumas song "politicians in my eyes" you need to check out the original by death. detroit is probably best known for motown, but they were doing punk earlier and better than the brits with MC5 and iggy pop, and the lesser known death. this album absolutely rocks.
Oktubre // Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota
I saw this randomly recommended on Twitter; I'd never heard of them before but apparently this band was incredibly popular in Argentina in the 80s/90s. Post-punk with a lot of Cure vibes. Pretty cool.
