We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Last night Mrs GL said she wanted to hear the music from that era of my life that I talk a lot about but never play for her. Starting off here. 64 songs in 55 minutes. I’m expecting to get punched and this experiment of hers to be over in about 10 minutes of that.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Been catching up with Belgian releases released throughout 2021 and I swear it's not on purpose it's all jazz albums lmao.
Anything you recommend?
Grand Picture Palace and Nabou for your more general sense of jazz, Dans Dans is like jazz rock meets post rock, Stuff. is a wild ride with loads of electronics in it, De Beren Gieren is also nice. Mattias De Craene added also some subtle classical and electronic elements in his latest album. And lastly, Suwi made ssomething that sounds like a Mac DeMarco or Connan Mockasin project. Very mellow, soft jazz.
And ofcourse Nala Sinephro taking the whole cake.
