Went dancing to the legendary Cleveland soul master Arthur Blakely of The Hesitations, who was fronting Wesley Bright's old band The Hi-Lites on Saturday night. He played this old Tyrone Davis classic that is one of my favorite soul jams. It was Davis's debut single as a featured artist back in 68. Such a damn groove.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I don’t know how to properly format on mobile but I found this guy researching for Country Draft and he doesn’t fit the prompt but holy shit I love this

To tell you the truth I've said it before Tomorrow I start in a new direction I know I've been half-asleep I'm never doing that again
I look straight at what's coming ahead And soon it's going to change in a new direction Every night as I'm falling asleep Those words repeated in my head 🌪️🌈🌻

never properly gotten into YLT. where should I go after this one?
IMO you can't go wrong with any of these three: I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out

I would definitely start with I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One, but here's a random playlist based on their average setlist. It's pretty random because they change it up every night but if you're interested.

Great recs.
Also, "And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out" is such a great phrase to use when something unexpected happens.
