My vote is 25 bands before Black Friday. One time submission. List locks at midnight on that Friday. Headliners are three points, every other act is one. Most points takes the victory.
I think that is a solid, easy plan. I'm not contributing the ticket though, so I'm not the final say. Thoughts?
I would like to help/get on this. I think 50 is too many, 25 is a better number, with 3 headliners(3pts for picking a HL). Belgium Manders has a good idea, 25 by Black Friday and then another 25 after that, but that could get complicated and messy. Simple might be best. I think 200 post should be the rule. (hit the arcade, lots of 'free' post in there), as the ticket/s should go to an Inforoo member that is active in the community and on the boards. You guys do whatever you feel is right. I am way to busy with school to even attempt to keep up or help with this anymore. I'll check back soon and adjust my list accordingly. Somebody needs to set some rules everyone can agree on sooner than later.

Alrighty folks, if everyone is ok with it I would like to take the reins on this one. I agree with the above rules: 25 bands, 3 headliner slots, 3 points for a correct headliner, 1 point for everything else (also 1 point for your headliner pick if they appear in the lineup but not in the 1st three slots). I feel the 200 post minimum is a fair rule as well. Submission deadline will be Black Friday, 11/25/11. As for leaks, so be it. I would assume if there is some MONSTROUS (ie headliners dropped with proof) leak before Black Friday we can take a vote on how to handle that.
You can submit one list per member and I will make a gmail account for the submissions. I feel like if everyone posts their predictions in the thread itself all/most of our lists would look rather similar (more than normal at least, I know we all are pushing for alot of the same bands/groups to be there next year). For those who have already posted their 50 in this thread feel free to edit and remove your bands from the thread. They will be null as the only legit submission will be the email sent to the gmail account I created. In the event of a tie, the member with the correct band lowest on the lineup wins. If there's still a tie, the second lowest correct guess wins.
Prize(s): 2 GA Tickets to Bonnaroo 2012, anything else anybody wants to contribute (though it is not a requirement)
In order to be fair, those qualifying members who have already posted their 50 bands in this thread will receive a PM from me indicating the rules/submission method has changed. My aim is to have these out by tomorrow night. That way everybody will be on the same page.
Is everyone ok with this? Would/does anybody object? Can I get an amen?
EDIT: I will not be eligible for the winnings/prize(s), as I do not see it fair that I will be the one responsible for tallying everyone's votes and keeping score and declaring the winner. Also once this is wrapped up I will post/display everyone's votes and their point breakdown.

oh, just a thought - since the deadline is 11/25 - you can post the entries any time after that right?
And when will the score tally take place? After they release the Cafe bands?
Thats a very valid question, and I've been thinking about the fact that there are multiple additions to the lineup after the initial lineup is released.
I have no problem posting everyone's submissions once the deadline has passed, and I'm going to be keeping an excel spreadsheet as well to help me with the scoring.
As for lineup additions being included in this contest, I'll keep a tally from now until the deadline (11/25/11).
A yes vote would include the initial lineup, and all subsequent lineup additions through the Cafe acts, excluding comedians.
A no vote would limit the contest to only the initial lineup.

I'm glad I don't have to stress about post count. 2 GA tickets is a huge prize, was it 1 or 2 last year? I had an outside shot if I would have landed Eminem, but instead I put Dr. Dre.

1.How are we to handle rumors/leaks in regards to putting said names in our contest line up?
2. How do we register our vote for what lineup total should count, either initial or final, towards determining the contest winner? Thanks!
1. Rumors and leaks are bound to happen.......eventually.........ANY band/artist can be listed in your line-up, rumored or not rumored.
2. As for whether to have the winner declared after the initial lineup or waiting to declare the winner after all of the musical acts have been announced, that can be voted on in this thread. A simple 'Initial Lineup' vote or 'Full Lineup' vote I think would suffice. And then come 11/25/11 I'll just tally the votes put in this thread.
Even if we wait for all of the acts to be on the lineup that would put us into May at the latest. That still allows enough time to have tickets mailed, etc..

I'm not trying to sway votes one way or the other. My only concern is that if we wait until all of the musical artists have been released, that puts us into April and maybe even May before a winner is known. By that time I know lots of you (myself included) will have already purchased ticket(s) for Bonnaroo.
EDIT: Going through my emails from last year.....Artist Additions were announced April 7th and Cafe Artists were announced April 15th.
