You do realize that "lynch mob" has a connotation to it inferring irrationality, correct? Sorry for arguing, but you did kind of infer that we were unruly and mindless.
Also, I really don't understand why you would rather him be banned. Theres an ignore function, why can you not use it on him? I have several members on this forum on ignore and it doesn't hinder my experience at all...
i would define "lynch mob" as a group of upset and angry people?
if you're trying to say it was meant to be racist or something, it wasnt?
No, I'm not calling you racist at all. I do associate the term with the Civil Rights movement, and many of those lynch mobs ended in people getting killed for what a vast majority of people in the country today would call crazy beliefs.
like i said, in my head i defined "lynch mob" as a group of angry and upset people. i had no idea it meant "irrational or dumb" or anything.
sincerely apologize if you guys took it that way.
and if i had to chose between having emoney around, and not, i would chose not. the guy constantly troleld me. but i completely understand why some of you are defending him. im not saying its unjust.
I mean it does have a racist connotation with it too but its quite obvious he meant it with no racial intentions. But it still does infer when calling a group a "lynch mob" in a non-literal sense, you are inferring that they are passionate, reactionary, and irrational.
I guess you are unaware of the connotations that are associated with the term "lynch mob."
You basically said if someone speaks their mind in support of the ban, they'd be attacked. I was disagreeing with that sentiment, as many people had spoken in support of it without being attacked.

You didn't answer my question though. Why couldn't you just use the ignore function on him?
I guess I see where you're coming from though. If there were certain people on this forum that got banned, I would be totally cool with it.

Yeah, I have no problem with you thinking he should be banned. It's your opinion, and I can see how you wouldn't have a very positive image of him considering your interactions with him on the Skrillex thread at least. I was just trying to give you an idea of why Flanzo reacted like he did.
I did have the ignore button on him. But he constantly got quoted, or a discussion would form off of something he said, so it was pretty pointless.
Out of curiosity, did you ever have an actual argument with emoney? Or was your ire based solely on his "ruining" (or in the words of most other inforoosters "greatly improving") your Skrilleybear thread?
I would also like to point out that even though earlier I said "i got what i wanted, i have no reason to protest" i never reported emoney or asked that he be banned.
the only discussions i had about him with a mod was when i asked for my skrillex thread to be locked and that mod asked why.
ITT: Juggs posts pornography and only gets banned for a week, because (and I quote roofanintn): "We'll see you in a week (which is light, BASED on the fact that he is such a respected member here)."
I have already proven that emoney is a respected member here (See my sig [the thread that got locked instantly, not the part about Phi masturbating himself to sleep at Roo every year]) yet he gets an indefinite ban because some mods have personal vendettas against him. And Juggs actually did something to receive his ban, unlike emoney.
Alberto you might as well drop it. We all know what is going on and that it is unfair. Emoney was branded as a menace during the TM war. It has stuck with him despite the fact that he has a higher quality post percentage than the majority of members. He will be back eventually but the mods have to remind ever one that they are in charge first.

Yeah that is a real big issue. That should be shut down immediately. I wonder if the mods really want the name of this board associated with a chat rooms about dildos and penis kisses. It does not really put our best foot forward to the world for crap like this to be going on. The name inforoo is trademarked, Phi certainly does not own that. This calls for the mods to shut down the chat immediately, that is TM infrigement

I guess I have lost the childishness that allows one to see where trademark infringment is funny.
It's all about trademark people. Inforoo is a trademarked named, owned by Adam.
You can't just call your chatroom whatever you want, and then talk about dildos! I don't have a dog in the fight, I don't like chatrooms and rarely, if ever, use them!!
But if there is an entity on the net using the inforoo name, but the person running it is not permitted to use inforoo, then something has to be done. Sorry, not trying to be a quack, but thats the way it is.
I'd say it should NOT "be shut down immediately" as there is an actual Mod in there (both now and on a regular basis).
Phi isn't the mod. He isn't claiming to be or wanting to be. He just happens to be the one who's in there when more members join in. He's more like the furniture - a constant fixture in the room just waiting on people to show up & get the party started.

surely you guys have something better to complain about? You know it's an election year right? Your cable companies/cell phone providers screwing you over? That one act on the lineup that ruined the whole thing for you? This whole emoney situation is just becoming pointless and redundant. It's not that hard to NOT get banned, so it's not like he's totally innocent.

This has nothing to do with emoney, this is WEBCHAT TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT. Very serious stuff. This kinda stuff can go to court.
Trademark Jess could probably get a client to help for free, there are only 45000 copyright/trademark lawyers in Nashville to choose from.
Another interesting tidbit about trademark law, if you do not defend it then others will be allowed to use it without you having recourse. If you had a golf course called mini a-holes, and let your friend open up an unaffiliated golf course called mini a-holes, then a third party could do so as well and you would not be allowed to do anything about it.
Actually "Luckily, becuase (Adam is) a new york native, I know a ton of attorneys that are more than happy to dispense free legal advice and take cases on contingency" (actual quote)
Damn I wish I had been born in New York. All that free legal advice would have been useful.
