We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I think that it pretty common of any boy who grew up in that time frame. Optimus Prime dying = early childhood trauma.
You know, it wasn't just Optimus Prime dying. It was actually the part where the Decepticons assaulted the Autobot ship on the way to Earth. In the cartoons, when they got blasted with lasers, you'd see a scorch mark or something and they'd fall over. Here, the Decepticons are blasting away and all of a sudden the Autobots are getting blown open, and have smoke pouring from their ears and red fires from their mouths - it's a complete change of course, and it was goddamned terrifying as a child.

In the film's original script, the character Duke dies in battle. This decision inspired the killing of Optimus Prime in The Transformers: The Movie while both films were in production.[3]
After Optimus Prime's death sparked backlash among fans and parents, Hasbro backtracked on allowing Duke's death and had new dialog inserted, stating Duke was only in a coma. He recovered by the end of the film.[4] Writer and Story Editor Buzz Dixon has stated that if you watch just the visuals, it is clear that Duke dies.[5] Duke reappeared as a prominent character, on active duty, in the DiC series in two episodes: "The Mind Mangler" and "Chunnel".
In the original script to the film, Duke not only dies, but the Joes also hold a funeral for him prior to the final battle
I guess being a G.I. Joe fanboy and only being half interested in Transformers worked out good for me.
Raiders would do much better with a different owner.

Haha, so true, That is why I am calling it now. Many, many moons ago, we use to sit around after work and play spades and smoke blunts. Football was always a topic of discussion and Tamp Bay fit into that equation. We all agreed, 'if the Bucs would just change their uniform, they would win', sure enough, the next year the 'creamsicle' was gone and so was that pirate named Bruce(who has ever heard of a pirate named 'Bruce', ??? I am scared?!!), and they started wining. And thanks to Cover 2. Al is a robot, but Oakland needs a new owner.

Did someone just drop a Chuck Norris Troll Bomb? I would say Chuck is doing pretty good at life. He seems to be to be in good health, he seems happy, and he seems self actualized. Now if he was in overweight, in jail, beat his dog, and raped a goat, then he may fail at life. Like him or not, Chuck Norris has not failed at life.
