Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
From what I've heard, the core of the Bonnaroo crowd is college age kids, however, I'm guessing people young and old attend the festival. I was just wondering because me and my friends are going to be seniors in high school, ages 17-18, and we're planning a trip to Bonnaroo. So I was just curious..
alright, thanks. i tried searching for a thread like this first, but obviously I didn't search hard enough
any special advice for going as a "minor"? I won't quite be 18 yet when I attend, I don't know if that means anything, but I figured I'd ask. I'm around the majority age group (18-25), so I won't feel out of place or anything. But still, just asking
I would have to completely disagree with the statement "The majority of attendees is college aged" Not true. You will see as diverse of age groups as you find anywhere. If I had to guess an "average" of all the attendees at roo, I would probably guess in the 35 - 37 year old age.
that being said, I'd have to say that I noted that most of the people at roo last year looked to be above "college age", the majority (from what i noticed at least) looked to be in their mid-late 20's early 30's.

My advice: Pace yourself.
I think most people end up overindulging their first year and maybe leaving with some regrets about what they missed. You can get messed up anywhere but you rarely have the opportunity to see the pure concentration of music, comedy, film and good people that you get at Bonnaroo.
If you are going to indulge, really watch yourself before sunset. The heat and the dehydration can kick your @ss and quick!
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things

I'm 21 and will be 22 next Roo...so I guess I fall in the "college-age" category, but I brought my little bro last year and he was only 15. He had a blast and was treated the same as everybody else...no troubles at all. I think ya'll will be fine!

I was only 14 at my first Roo in 05, and there was hardly anyone else my age. In 06, there crowd did seem to be a bit younger, and in 07, there were many more kids who seemed to be around 16.
But I'd say the majority of people there are a little older than college students, like around 23-35 is what I'd predict.
And no, its not weird at all when you're a lot younger. Everyone is actually a lot cooler to you

I'm 40 now and sometimes wonder how much longer I will want to attend Roo and other live shows - but you give me hope that my passion for music won't necessarily go away as I get older

"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
I found the ages to be all over the place. I'm 36, wife is 38, our neighbors ranged from 14 to 50. I worshipped Corncat prior to SuperJam with a guy who said he was 75.
i'll be 18 and my friends are 20 and 21 and we are pumped. one of my friends has been once before but me and my other friend will be down at the farmfor the first time and i cannot wait

You'll have a blast. Last year was my first Roo, and it was about two weeks after my high school graduation.
As long as you're not too young...you'll quickly learn that everyone is the same age at Bonnaroo. Everyone's there to live, love, laugh and just have a great time.

For my first Roo I was 18 and right out of high school but one of my best friends was with me and he was only 17. Honestly I was exhausted by the end of the day from doing wayyy too much at once and missed alot of the cool ass late night shit. Just chug a shit ton of water during the day and as soon as the sun goes down that's when you can have your fun bc the temperature drops like 30+ degrees. And don't be afraid to make nice with your neighbors...some of the coolest people I've ever met were in the camps next to mine.
