Aren't you already sick of them? I can't turn on anything without getting a dose of them. Prior to Coachella I had never heard of them, now it's like the second coming. I don't really care if they are on the farm but I don't get the ridiculous hype at this point. My wife walks around humming PUK all the time. Pain.

Torches is actually a great album. I had been listening to them for a while and decided to tune into the webcast of their set at Coachella. At that point all I'd heard was Pumped Up Kicks and was surprised at how good everything else was. I was living in Portland at the time and they dominated the most popular song spot for about six months on the best radio station there. Now they sell out everywhere and are getting huge. I'm glad for them, it's great music.
I saw them at Outside Lands this summer and they were so much fun. Plus they packed the hell out of the stage they were on and said it was the biggest crowd they'd played yet. Weezer had just covered Pumped Up Kicks a few days before so they did a cover of Say It Ain't So which everyone sang to. Got to be right up front which was awesome. I tried to catch them again last month, but the show had been sold out for months and the scalpers wanted way too much. I want to see them on the fourth in Minneapolis but same deal, the show has been sold out forever.
Given that the campgrounds open a day early now, it makes sense to open Which on Thursday to help ease Centeroo congestion. I think Foster would be a perfect Which headliner for that night. They would be a big draw and make it easier to get around. If you were at Sleigh Bells this year you know how bad it can be. Don't knock Foster until you give the album a listen or see them live. You shouldn't hold it against them just because they're getting tons of recognition. 'Tis a good band.
Look I am pretty sure the whole point of the Weds night thing is to divide the attendees into two easily managed groups so that everyone has less of a wait. Pretty much the same reason they do a jam headliner on Sunday. If they start having a "bigger" Thursday night act on the Which then everyone is going to try to get in Weds night and defeat the purpose.
i can't help but just see this band as another mgmt or passion pit. they have a couple of really catchy songs and they'll more than likely play in 2012 but i dont know i just cant get into it.

catchy songs can make for a great show. Passion Pit was one of the most fun sets I saw in 09, and even though i'm not the biggest fan, i'd be down seeing FOP at roo too, cause I know the show itself would be pure fun.

well i don't want to deny anyone else the chance to have fun, like i said it only makes sense that a band that has already played coachella and lolla and has blown up in the last year take stage at bonnaroo next year. i've read that with their new keyboard player that they put on a fun show.
but i've seen mgmt and passion pit and i just can't get into catchy synth-pop. i will be elsewhere alone. like in 2009 when i went to moe. by myself and everyone else in my group went to mgmt.

It seemed to result in tons of people showing up Wednesday night, in addition to people showing up at their regular times on Thursday. No matter how you slice it, there are going to be more people in Centeroo on Thursday night now. It's nice to be able to come get set up and have a night of rest before Roo starts, so I can only see the Wednesday night opening bringing in more people early. You have all those people, but the two biggest stages closed off, thus resulting in a very packed space.
I'm just saying that opening Which seems like it would be a good idea to ease congestion. Foster are blowing up, but they're still of a moderate size. It's not as if they'd be booking Thursday headliners, just medium bands that could play on Which. I doubt they'll do it, but it's a change I'd like to see happening in the future. Plus, why complain about more opportunities to see music? I'd love to see Thursday made more expansive while still keeping the idea of generally smaller and up and coming acts playing that day.
it's so hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. we have no scars to show for happiness. we learn so little from peace. -chuck palahniuk
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Lots of people think this band isn't "cool" so I don't want them at Bonnaroo.
I think a lot of people just feel that they are this years "One Hit Wonder". There are a ton of people who just like the "flavour of the day" and in many peoples mind, thats exactly what they are.
With that being said, there are always a number of bands at festys that I dont enjoy and thats the beauty of a festival....you dont have to check them out. Plus, it will draw all of the tweens and band wagon band lovers to their show.

So they have announced their Spring Tour and they are playing in GA on June 7th and Then to Maryland on June 10. Bonnaroo is a perfect pit stop between GA and MD and the dates work out. So I am predicting they play on Friday June 8th, late afternoon or late night.
Considering how quickly they've gained popularity over the past year I'd be super surprised if they didn't show up to the farm this year. I saw them at Coachella last year and then again in Tucson for a stand alone. Not bad, but again, they've blown up and I agree with y'all who've said the show will be packed.
