The Phish dates are being released Feb 7, so I assume we will get the Bonnaroo dates then as well. If the preliminary dates are correct expect a LN Sat and Sunday closer.
how do you know when phish is releasing their summer dates?

Honestly it is a accumulation game, if three people say Phish is playing Bonnaroo, then another gives some early dates and says they will be released around when we should get the Bonnaroo lineup it makes everything a lot more believable.
If I can go, I'd love Phish to be back for 2012. Amazing shows last time.
You should have hit NYC when I was there on the 28th, that and Alpharetta II 2010 were the best shows I have seen since the 90's.
I'm currently inbetween cars at the moment. I had been having problems with my last one a little while before Xmas and had to keep putting money into it. Then it finally died so I had no car and I'm pretty broke as it is. So I had to start saving money/spending wisely and an NYC concert was not going to help. I was pissed that I had to miss Phish at MSG as well as a Deer Tick New Year's Eve show in Brooklyn.
I was going to come into the city just to hang out but couldn't even afford that at the time (had no car to get to train station lol).
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
One of the best shows I've ever been to. so much fun.
Seconded.
Thirded. Myself and two friends did the Raleigh > Charlotte > ATLx2 run, and its one of my fondest Phish memories. We drove overnight from Mobile to Raleigh to start, then made our way slowly back down south throughout the tour. much nicer then this past summer, when we did basically the reverse, Charlotte > Raleigh > Portsmouth then a 15 hour drive straight home after that. still both runs were great times.
I did literally throw my back out during Killing In The Name Of. I had really bad back pain for weeks after the show. so worth it. that show was also my first Forbins, which forever has been my most beloved Phish tune. people are always talking Tela and Mockingbird, which are beautiful no doubt, but the harmony in the chorus of Forbins is one of the best things in the world ever, of all time.
I would love to have done MSG this year. Did it last year and it was epcot, New York is amazing, no doubt. but I have to admit I'm happy to have a thousand dollars in my pocket that i otherwise wouldn't have. really enjoyed the couch tour experience as well.
I know nothing is ever set in stone at this point in rumor season, but I have my hopes way up for Phish and my return to Bonnaroo. i'll really be disappointed if it ends up they aren't there.
So when I heard the hangout rumors I discounted this idea. However other rumblings are starting to say yes. It really would not surprise me with the new album coming out and all. I would love to see The Boys tear Bonnaroo up again.
In fact regardless of the amount of moaning it would cause I would like to see them get a LN and a Headliner again. I loved both shows in 09 and they are much better now that they have been practicing for a couple of years.
I must be slipping I called it in Sept in 08 for 2009.
What are the odds that the Phish confirmation from insider is a case of miscommunication and the band will actually be hosting a fest on the farm, independent of Bonnaroo?

I thought that actually possible at one point, until I saw the revised summer tour. The guy does not give a damn about Bonnaroo, but confirmed it, and said the tour would be out on Feb 7th, which is more or less when we should get the Bonnaroo lineup.

I hear ya. I still see a Phish fest in Manchester at some point!

I agree it will happen at some point, you can crash at my place the night before.
On a slightly different but still Phish related topic, there are a few people speculating about a Trey/TAB set at bonnaroo in addition to the Phish set. I do not think that is likely. Bear Creek was the last show of the TAB tour this past Fall, and before the encore trey was addressing the crowd and said this would be TAB's last time playing together for a really long time. so I don't think we'll see them at bonnaroo. based on past 3.0 TAB tours I'm think a long time means over a year at least.
