Some poster sent me this message.. Doubt it's accurate but just throwing it out there
Greetings from Oklahoma!
I have no idea how to reply to your post about 2012 predictions (I have no idea how to respond to anyone's posts!
You should be delighted to know that Cage The Elephant WILL be performing at Bonnaroo 2012... How do I know? Matt Schulz told me Sunday night!
Awolnation, Rise Against & Cage The Elephant were at Brady Theater, Tulsa, Sunday 12/4/2011. I went to see Cage The Elephant, however, Awolnation gave an amazing show. It goes without saying that the band who rocked Tulsa that night was indeed Cage The Elephant.
My next concert is December 13th in St. Louis at The Pageant... Cage The Elephant, again!

Haha I buy that honestly. Seems like someone with information that's confused and dying to get it out there. I also think it's very likely that Cage the Elephant is at Bonnaroo anyway
either we are starting way too early or we are really gonna be disappointed come lineup day
I don't think we are that early. Sure the lineup isn't carved in stone, but certainty with the release less than 2 months away, a decent part is probably set or at the least in the final stages of negotiation. I think we are just missing some of the artists that will be there, hence why we haven't gotten any definite yes' yet.
Although, I will say the Cut Copy/Caribou/Levon trifecta of denial is a big downer. I was really hoping for a Ramble and Cut Copy this year.

Minus the Bear responded to me on twitter, they said they're going to try and hit the festival. Looks to be the same case with other bands, they haven't been contacted yet.

Looks good for Battles
Any chance Battles makes a return to Bonnaroo this Summer after the success of Gloss Drop? If I had one wish for Christmas this year it would be knowing that Battles will be back at my favorite festival this Summer. Love the new sound! Will my wish come true? Thanks!

This sounds like a yes to me.
@_SilentComedy The Silent Comedy The chances are actually very good that we'll be there! “Dave Maynar: @_SilentComedy Any chance of a show at Bonnaroo this year?”

Yeah I just want to say thanks to everyone who is doing this. You guys are very clever and your work on this is really appreciated. It's cool finding out little bits of news during such a dry spell. Bummer about Cut Copy though.

I'm going to file OF and Minus The Bear under unknown, simply because their responses sound, to me, like they may be in negotiations. Glad we have a few yes' now. Keep up the good work guys. I sent emails to Rubblebucket, Toubab Krewe, and Citizen Cope today.

A thought: bands are much more likely to give away their status if they're not coming. Obviously, a headliner isn't going to confirm anything to us early. However, we might be able to narrow the pool by asking some and them being able to deny it. I don't have a twitter, but it's just a thought. I'll send out a few emails, though.

I've said it before but if The Silent Comedy does end up going you have to check them out. Their album is great but their live show is AMAZING. We saw them open for Ryan Bingham and seriously they were way better. The entire place was dancing in their seats (bah seats!) and everyone swarmed them after their set at the merch table. This is band that puts on a killer live show.
As further conformation this was from facebook Me to The Silent Comedy So... are you guys playing Bonnaroo this year? Like · · 20 hours ago · Kerry Ann Gonzales likes this.

I sent out a bunch today. I've actually been doing this for a while now. Everest said they are hoping to be back and not playing on what they called the 'pulled pork stage'. I'll let you know if anyone else responds.
On top of tweeting and emailing talking to bands after shows is a really good way to get confirmations either way. If you get a chance to talk to anyone from a band directly make sure to ask.
