Can someone explain to me the joke about the natedogg account please? I know this may not be the appropriate thread, but I have no idea where else to ask since it was just mentioned..
I emailed the Avett Brothers booking agent & asked if they'd be playing any US festivals in June. The reply was "Wakarusa & 2 others unannouced for now, so far. " I've got my money on one of those to be Bonnaroo.
I'm liking the odds. I wonder where they would play this time. They played an afternoon set on Which last time (i think before weezer)

It isn't a joke. natedogg had an account here for a while until he deleted it a few years back after a bit of an embarrassing posting. He then started the account nkyguy which was deleted a few weeks ago. This donovan fellow appears to be his new account.

I expect better from you, Juggs. You can't tell me that you like so few bands that from the denials we have there are not enough bands left to make a good undercard
Saw Punch Brothers in Birmingham on Saturday night. After the show, I got to talk to Chris Theile and the other guys in the band. They all stated and agreed that they expect to be playing Bonnaroo this year and it should be finalized very soon.
As a side note, they have a new album coming out February 14th and they played 8 songs from it at this show. If the recorded version is anywhere close to as good as the live version we heard, it will be an incredible release. Looking forward to seeing these guys again.
I think this worked better when it was just gabfrab and rdk sending emails. It was more natural and elicited more positive responses. The agents seemed to be more willing to break confidentiality if it seemed like it was a private message to an individual fan. The carpet bombing method just tips the agents off and annoys them. The responses so far have been awesome, but we should keep this in mind when everyone tries to replicate it next year.
Edit: I also don't want to forget to give stphenjmo big props on the Antlers confirm. My theory may be completely wrong as while I typed this post, more big news rolled in.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Avett Brothers: "I cannot say until the official announcement on Feb 14. But I can tell you that they will not be playing Sasquatch this year."
So lineup drop is the 14th and Avetts look likely.
This is huge news. This contact knows what's up. I take this as confirmation of a Feb. 14 lineup drop. I think the Avetts are going to be one of our headliners, most likely in the MMJ spot.
Emailed Frightened Rabbit, Josh Ritter, and The Swell Season a while back, but unfortunately I've not gotten any responses. I also tweeted Frightened Rabbit and wrote on their Facebook over a period of time so I didn't overload them all at once. They are usually pretty cool about answering fans, so my hope is that their silence is a good thing. However, it's probably just wishful thinking.
