Also, forget terrorism. Gay marriage is a bigger threat to America.
“You can say I’m a hater. But I would argue I’m a lover. I’m a lover of traditional families and of the right of children to have a mother and father… I would argue that the future of America hangs in the balance, because the future of the family hangs in the balance. Isn’t that the ultimate homeland security, standing up and defending marriage?” - Quoted in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, July 2004
Santorum is just a wanna-be Huckabee. Plus, he can never be our President because...well just google Santorum and see the first thing that poops pops up. Good article Jess by the way.
Ron Paul is a nice and earnest guy and all but I can't see him as President. I can get behind his anti-war and pro-Constitution stance but his naivety of a totally unregulated economy would just plunge this country into more debt. Considering we have been financing debt over domestic infrastructure for years now. Plus Laggy did a really good job of outlining his social policies. Meaning Paul has none. Overturning every single New Deal policy is a dangerous road, especially in an increasingly privatized country. That and RP is just too damn Magoo to be our Commander-in-Chief.
Romney, i just don't trust. Everything he says and does is a career politician move. With his private sector experience, yeah he may seem like a guy who can change things. But I feel it's more business as usual with him.
I really like Huntsman. From what I've seen in the Republican debates, he and Gingrich have come out the best. But I think Huntsman has a great grasp on how to deal with foreign trade and he wants to simplify our tax code. Plus, he wants to invest in our sciences which will help our education and innovation which inevitably leads to solutions people invest in. He does have ONE blind spot. He wants to end foreign income tax, and with much our jobs already going overseas (especially China) that's bad news. He's sound and logical and he won't win the GOP nomination but I'd be happy if he became our Secretary of State. His experience in Asia is unmatched.
And then he and his wife brought home their DEAD F*CKING BABY to introduce to the rest of their kids. What. The. Fuck. How sick in the head do you have to be to do that.

Unless you're like 7th place in the polls... because your campaign has very little money to do much against the whores. Looking at Buddy Roemer, Fred Karger, Jon Huntsman, etc
So right now I'm at a Mexican restaurant in Manchester NH, and Newt Gingrich is maybe 100 feet away. Probably less.
One Occupy Hartford protester had an incident with (Edit: Secret Service) beforehand.
Of course he's a corporate whore, but I'm surprised he's not spouting off crazy rhetoric in regards to Latino issues like immigration and citizenship. Most Repubs do, he's a bit more compassionate towards good people.
Edit: And he got into a mini debate with a Occupy Boston protester, plus got a few tough questions.

"Gingrich’s attacks on [Romney] are the very essence of free enterprise: They’re helped by campaign finance laws that sell elections to the highest bidder. For those Republicans who thought that unlimited political contributions would be a good thing for their party, it’s a delicious irony that a casino billionaire is using his money to underwrite a populist assault on the GOP front-runner."
I love it: Republicans are now howling over the potential negative effects of unchecked political contributions. Just four short years ago, the silence was deafening as the GOP stood idly by and smiled as the Supreme Court threw out McCain-Feingold and opened the floodgates.
Not surprised Tea Party members make more $ than normal Republicans. When you send the message of a smaller government and a completely unregulated market. You are bound to get some lucrative donations.
The whole Romney vs. Gingrich thing is interesting. You got the Fiscal Conservative Republican vs. The Reagan Republican. If I had to pick, quack the fiscal conservative. Greedy wankers.
I'm not surprised Gingrich is taking the offensive against Romney's negative ads. It's completely unfounded but I have a gut feeling Romney was behind Herman Cain's downfall. I felt a good portion of the women accusing Cain were paid and Cain was the only other Republican with major private sector experience. Just a hunch.

Didn't know where to put this but thought I'd put it here. Probably goes under random thoughts but oh well.
I went out with my hooping instructor today for lunch and she's venting about this other girl we know. The convo goes "She so full of shit. She talks all this love, peace, and helping out the poor and SHE'S A FUCKING REPUBLICAN! A REPUBLICAN!"

Bottom line: Citizens United has led, indirectly but surely, to the emergence of Super PACs. But it is up to Congress, not the Supreme Court, to fix the disclosure problems with Super PACs.

I'll be voting for Obama due to a lack of any alternative. I wrote him off as soon as he extended the Bush tax cuts, but what else is out there? Do I vote for a guy who places homosexuals in the same arena as pedophiles? Do I vote for an expert at dismantling businesses and ruining lives? Aside from those options all we're left with is a couple of not-so-closeted racists. I would never vote Republican anyway.
I really do hope those balls drop in a second term.
