Pepper? There are many different kinds (flavors) and peppers can be crunchy or soft. They are also used in certain types of Mexican food. But I don't think I would consider them "A name amongst the Titans"
as far as a crunchy food that is not always crunchy... anyone gone down the cereal path?? that was the first thing that popped in my head..

it's red hot chili peppers. gotta be. a food of many flavors that can be chewy or crunchy and often used on mexican food. not to mention the fact they are grouped into that list insider gave us.
The tweet made it sound like it had never occured to gary that it could be used on mexican food, but it probably 'could'. I'd wager that rules out peppers

Not sure if it's been brought up, but Phoebe is the only name among the 12 original Titans of Greek mythology. I'm going with the logic that "the name amongst Titans" is reference to a name that people have today - and I don't know anyone named Oceanus or Hyperion or anything. ; )
I'm trying to further develop the Phoebe theory, though, to help with the flavor part of the clue....
Edit: my first thought was Phoebe from Friends, but I can't find anything to support that.....

This is most likely a huge stretch, but it follows the Phoebe train of thought. And probably not right, because I tried to make the clues match the band instead of the other way around.
But anyway:
Take "Phoe" out of "Phoebe". That made me think immediately of Phoenix. I tried to do a search for Nix, got info about Pluto's moon. So I tried another spelling - "Nicks" - and got info about Italian Ice. So I tried to search "Nicks flavor" and got links about gelato.
So basically: A name amongst the Titans - Phoebe - Phoe What's your favorite flavor? - Nick's Gelato/Italian ice - Nix Phoenix!
It doesn't really match the you-can-put-it-on-certain-Mexican-food hint, but I'm trying ~anything~.

how was the hot chip connection to the titans? i could see the food part fit for sure. crunchy, different flavors, and can put it on certain types of mexican (that taco bell burrito has fritos in it)
