I know that they are supposedly done, but maybe The Gorillaz. They misspell their name, and you could say apes are the original simpleton. Also an author named John goulet wrote a book called the human ape. Not exactly sure how to fit in the mini liars part.

I can't have the Fray there. They were, more than any other musical act, the group I made fun of most during my four years at college. Mainly because the girls I hung out with loved them so much, I had the natural need to make fun of them. If they're at Roo, my life will have become a lie.

Agreed man....If I can make a clue go Jack White's way, I will probably do it. He wasn't on the farm last year so it is about time for him to return in some form.

A white liar could be a mouse lying about being dead. Or mini-liar could mean a mouse lying.
Templeton was the mouse in Charlotte's Web. Rhymes with simpleton and Templeton was sort of a simpleton in the book.
Also, Paul Lynde was the voice of Templeton in the 1973 cartoon movie, and he was a really flamboyant guy, the type of guy that would say something like "Goulaaaaaaay"

googled bright eyes and mini liar (mostly because i just want bright eyes to be there) and the first thing that came up was lyrics to total eclipse of the heart... "Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart.... skip a line.... Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit helpless and I'm lying like a child in your arms " apparently "connor" is the american way to spell conor, and conor oberst spells it the traditional irish way
