Can anyone suggest which albums I should get/listen to to get more acclamated with them. The only album I have is Death By Stereo and know it pretty well. I have gone back and looked at set lists and they don't seem to play to much off this album.
I'll definitely enjoy the show no matter what, but I'm not sure if I can stay until 6 am without being a little more familiar with more of their music.
Suggestions please!
check out the albums itrainmonkeys suggested. Mantis I think is a killer release for a studio effort from them...some of the others kinda fall flat compared to what they bring live.
Check out their website though. They release free podcasts of music from their shows, sometimes with a theme and sometimes just the cream of the crop from recent shows. They are all archived on umphreys.com

My fave album of theirs is Anchor Drops, but honestly, I'd suggest streaming or downloading their shows off archive.org in order to get acquainted with them. Their studio albums don't really show off how well they can improvise. You will not be disappointed in their show, though. They're awesome! Def more prog rock than jam.
2012 Wishlist: Radiohead Phish Daft Punk Ghostland Observatory Broken Social Scene Roger Waters Bell X1 Bonobo Chemical Brothers Fiona Apple Built to Spill Modest Mouse
Thier last Roo performance was pretty 'Mantis' heavy (which I loved), plus they played at least 3 songs which ended up on Death By Stereo, not sure if they take this kind of thing into consideration when making up thier setlists or not?

Ahhh!! Now I'm having trouble deciding on which concert to download! Someone be so kind and pick a recent one that you think will be a decent representation of their Roo set. This may be hard but do your best!

I'd probably recommend to look into some recent live sets- Umlive.net if you are willing to spend money or on archive.org for free fan recorded sets..
Some Recent recs for someone getting into umphreys, IMO: 12/29/2011 1/20/2012 2/11/2012 3/9/2012 4/14/2012
...Honestly, you can't go wrong choosing any shows in 2012,
I love how they tweak and enhance the studio versions onstage. Songs like 'turn and dub' give songs whole new life, definitely mix up live and studio releases if you're just starting out!
