sounds like petty, ignorant, ridiculousness.

I live in NNY and can honestly say that besides nyc, ny drivers are pretty tame. Considering that there is a state trooper at every other mile marker until you get to city. Pa drivers on the other hand are crazy due to lack of enforcement. After ny i didnt see police until kentucky.
(venting here)Thats not very nice its like he is saying "please dont come to our state and feed our local economy and donate loads of money" last year I spoke to vendor who said this one week keep the whole town afloat for the year. I love roo not just because of the music peace and love but by how much it gives back to the local community starting with the $3 donation to coffee county. Sorry some jack off made you mad but he shouldnt blame everyone from that area.
u know its like their saying its a good idea to threathen all these people who come once a year a feed the local economy. Last year I spoke to a couple vendors who said that one week funds their lives for the rest of the year. I dont just go to Roo for the peace love and music I really do love the fact that it does so much for the local economy and the locals. Also the $3 donation to Coffee county pays for the schools the roads etc etc...Not that I plan on speeding from ny but its still just plain old mean to punish the masses for the errors of some.

As usual leave it to the legislators to screw up another great thing. I'm having trouble deciding weather the people we elect start out as retards or they are forced into retardation after they are elected. I'm all for term limits go 4 terms congress and 3 terms for the senate. Far less opperetunnity for corruption as far as I can see.

Thank TN's Republican NRA controlled lawmakers for this particular gem of a law.

Back to the drivers thing south carolina has the worst. Id never flipped someone off while driving until I drove to kiawah. Some idiot in a miata came flying by me and cut me off and took a chunk of my bumper with him. I've never been so pissed in my life. And that was just one of the many idiots I saw.

Ok, so I'm from NY and will have NY plates. I won't have any illegal DrUgs on me but if I get pulled over I'd rather not have my shit spread out along the highway just because I have NY plates.
I'm actually a Masshole that just wound up on the wrong side of a line.
Mass drivers are pretty awful too. No denying that. NY, NJ, RI, MA, CT are prob the five worst states
I wouldn't say worst. I'd say 'most aggressive'. If you wanna talk bad driving, check out CA.
You know I have always pondered the "what state drives worse" question but the reason everyone thinks everyone other state drives bad is because ..its a different state different traffic laws patterns speed limits...I am from Philadelphia Pa we get a pretty bad rep but if you have ever driven in philly you would know why. The roads are littered with potholes and the streets are skinny and one way peopl dbl park and stop for no reason. So in Philly I am good driven because you have to be aggressive. I was transferred to joisey a couple months ago and you know something funny happened ...there were lines in the road poeple drove the effing speed limits..circles really wtf is a circle. So someone behind me my first month in nj would wave their hand in angst ahhh those pa drivers! Maybe I am playing devils advocate here but I think its all relative. I dont think simply being from a state makes you a bad driver it can be tough for some to drive on unknown territory. On the other hand that doesnt excuse people who really are bad drivers i.e people who try to talk text and drive please hang it up no matter what license plate you have!!!!
Ok, so I'm from NY and will have NY plates. I won't have any illegal NO NO WORD!!! on me but if I get pulled over I'd rather not have my poop spread out along the highway just because I have NY plates.
Have people in TN seen this enforced?
I don't have specific experience with this I just brushed up on the laws to protect myself bc I too have out of state plates. It is illegal for a cop to pull you over just because you have NY plates. Thats profiling. I'm sure they probably still do it to people who they think are probably going to roo and probably have corn. They'll probably tell you that you were speeding or something. They cannot search your car without your consent. Unless they have probable cause, which would be like visible or smellable corn or a visible weapon or something, you can just say "I appreciate that you're doing your job officer, however I won't consent to any searches. Am I free to leave?" If they still search your car, which I don't know they might, and pull out all your stuff they're violating your 4th amendment right to protection from illegal search and seizures. You can fight that in court, although I'd probably just drop it haha. Hope that helped!

I used to work for the police around here (haters gonna hate, haha). I was talking with a co-worker who was in the academy then dropped out due to a shoulder injury. He said that, while your average police department has to have a reason to pull you over, i.e. broken taillight, speeding, etc., a state trooper can pull you over for whatever reason. I never got really clear on the why, but he didn't BS me about anything else, so I would say he's accurate.
Just to add on here in case I haven't already, Tennessee lawmakers talk a ton of trash. I wouldn't put too much stock in there being any difference this year with out of state plates.
According to Edmond v. Indianapolis and Prouse v. Delaware officers cannot randomly select cars off the highway to check for drugs or to see if their license is valid etc... I don't really have any actual experience, I've been driving for less than a year (I put off getting a license for 3 years) and have never been pulled over. I also have no affiliation with the police department haha. Nothing in my research however indicates a difference in the way one can be treated by a regular officer vs a state trooper. It just seems that state troopers don't have set jurisdictions like regular officers, but that doesn't make them above the law.

I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

They don't. That's why it's important to know your rights and stay strong in a situation where you could be manipulated. Just stay under the speed limit and BE CAREFUL what you bring with you and what you do on the road. Even though I believe this is a silly threat, as an out of state driver (from MA) I always watch my speed and actions on the road when I'm down south. Better safe than sorry!

Where in MA are you? I'm really close to the Vermont border (I work in Vermont) and I've never been pulled over so many times in my life since switching my plates to MA and I'm a really careful driver. Do you think Tennesee holds a grudge against Massholes like New England does?

I live in Northampton MA. I haven't had any trouble in my 3 years going to Roo, but I know that I've been lucky. I've seen a lot of people from NY, MA, RI getting pulled over on the way to Roo. This year we are driving a conversion van down so I think we'll run into trouble of some sort. I'd say Massholes definitely get profiled all over the place.
I wish I could remember where I camped in 2010, we were near a huge group from VT and from your picture you look a little familiar but hard to tell.
