I could see her fitting the Burial + Four Tet vibe really well
While it might be an interesting experiment, I don't see that at all. Just my opinion, but she is one of the most overrated pop singers ever. And her mangling caterwauling of a straight melody doesn't seem like it would fit at all with the cool rhythms of Burial or Four Tet. I always think of their music going either the Beth Gibbons direction or the falsetto of a Rhye (or Sade) or Tom Krell. Too in the box?

I think so long as they (Burial and Four Tet) had complete creative control and basically told her exactly what to do it'd work out very well and sound great. But if she brought any of her pop style into it then it would be pretty awful.

Okay - I'd give that a listen for sure. Might be interesting and put her in a new light with doubters like me.

Burial's whole deal is taking vocals and putting them in a completely different and alien context and it somehow magnifying both the original pop emoting and creating new pathways.
So yea, I think it would be pretty cool to see him take 5 seconds of a Mariah vocal and turn something joyful into something mournful and harrowing.

Great. I need to clean, move my car into the driveway, wash clothes and go to the bathroom, but I can't now because this album has sucked me in. Thanks a lot, you Scottish bastards.

The thing I love most about Boards of Canada records is re-listening. There's so many little sounds and textures that you pick up as you listen to it repeatedly that become favorites, little things you look out for every time. Can't wait to do that with this record.
So far this has been phenomenal, not that I am surprised. Chances they actually hit the road for this?
I'd say roughly a 0% chance
That's pretty well what I figured as well. I could be wrong but I think they haven't toured since at least 2000. I know they played a small venue here in the late 90's as I heard a recording of it, but since I got into them in 2000 I can't remember them playing live shows.

Can anyone provide furthers on this?
According to Wkipedia ATP 2001 (curated by Tortoise) was the most recent live show.
