Had no intention of going to Ultra, but Underworld is playing so I'll be there that day.
You might not even need to. It's rare that Underworld plays a festival set and doesn't play a corresponding show in the same area. Could be you can avoid that shitshow altogether.
I sincerely hope so. Miami Music Week occurs during the same time, but I haven't seen many MMW shows from the more "live" acts. I'd prefer a solo set as well since I'd guess their Ultra crowd wouldn't be great.

Great part about fests like Ultra getting an act like Underworld is majority of the crowd doesn't know or care who the fuck they are. Easy to get a great spot and you're likely to be surrounded by die-hard fans.

This can be a benefit, but for Ultra it really becomes a detriment. Last year Tycho (who draws pretty big crowds at many festivals) and Bob Moses had practically no one. If that happened to Underworld, it'd be pretty depressing.
Did those pieces of shit put fucking Dixon #1 again?
RA top 5 2016: Dixon, Jackmaster, Tale of Us, Maceo Plex, Solomun RA top 5 2015: Dixon, Maceo Plex, Tale of Us, Ben UFO, Jackmaster RA top 5 2014: Dixon, Tale of Us, Ame, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex
Could be worse. I'm more confused by Patrick Topping and Joseph Capriati being so high.
My Vote was: 1.) Motor City Drum Ensemble 2.) Ricardo Villalobos 3.) Ben Klock 4.) Rodhad 5.) Carl Cox Honorable mention to Skream as well, I fucking love his sets.
Also, flying to Oakland this weekend to see Moderat, and they just announced a benefit show late the same night for the fire victims. Moby + a bunch of surprise guests, kind of expect Modeselektor to make an appearance.
Dixon has been number one five years running now. I can't fathom why, his sets are pleasant but that is about it.
Simple - because this is a poll, and because acts like Dixon play all over the place. Therefore, lots and lots of people have gotten the chance to see him, and guys like Dixon are the go-to token "good" acts that appear on the lineup of every shitty EDM festival on the planet. It's all about exposure.
I wanted to come back to this comment and ask what "shitty EDM festivals" Dixon has played in the last year? Ultra is pretty much the only one he's played in the U.S. in recent memory, and that was a few years ago.
I've seen their names here and other places before, but would DJ sets by Nightmares on Wax and Romare be a fun time?
I adore Nightmare on Wax's Boiler Room which is definitely a downtempo set, but I dont know if his normal dj sets are like that. If they are it would probably just be something to get very high and chill to; probably a similar vibe to a Tycho live set. I'd look up a non Boiler room DJ set from him to see if its your cup of tea.
"Daft Punk's seminal Homework turns 20 this January, so we're heading back to Chicago to gather some of the legendary house producers shouted out on their track "Teachers" back under one roof.
The show includes a world first tag-team set between DJ Pierre and DJ Hyperactive; the return of vital second wave pioneers Glenn Underground, Paul Johnson and Boo Williams; a first-time appearance on BR for harder edged Mike Dearborn; and an extended opening set from special guest Ron Trent – because he really should have been named on the Daft Punk album anyway."
This sounds intriguing, do you guys think it'd be worth $25/$30?
