I'm not being a negative Nancy because I don't like the line up. All the "must see bands" like The Shins and Radiohead I have seen before. I hate the Avett Brothers and Phish and Ben Folds. Beach Boys didn't impress me last time I seen them a year or so ago.mThere are some good mid-tier and lower level acts but none that I haven't seen before or wont be able to see at a cheaper fest this summer.
Do you know/have you listened to every act on the lineup?
Sometimes my favorite shows at Roo are the brand new (to me) acts on the bottom of the card.
True, ever since 2009 (I think, maybe it was 2010) I've been hoping that Katzenjammer gets billed again, saw them by accident and they were AMAZING. :-( Katzenjammer come back to me
I think my disappointment is the lack of metal. There's one band and its way at the bottom and its one I don't care for.
I kind of feel the same way although there is not any bands in particular I'd expect. Mastodon return would be cool though
Well we weren't gonna get Mastodon because they'll on the other side of the pond during Bonnaroo. But whats bizarre and funny is that we have a 7-8 page metal thread on the site and on the initial line-up we get one metal band.

I found this line up pretty awesome. Aside from the headliners we knew adding Ben Folds Five, Big Gigantic, ALO, Umphrees, Gary Clark Jr, Alice Cooper was very cool to me. Now the one of the best parts is researching those bands I don't know and finding those I go wow they are awesome!!!

I did like last years lineup better with Arcade Fire (they make any lineup expotentially better), MMJ and Black Keys. But honestly, I hadn't listened to much AF or MMJ before the lineup was announced. I then fell in love with AF even before Roo and I fell in love with MMJ because of Roo. So my opinion could change once I start listening to some of the artists. I'm keeping an open mind and am absolutely thrilled for my second trip to the farm!
Still hoping for Jack White and Santogold! But holy quack, this lineup is AMAZINGGGGG.
I really expected Santigold, wtf? She is touring with RHCP. I know most of the artists added after the lineup drops are cafe and comedy acts, but is there a prescident for adding "bigger" acts like Satigold, Miike Snow, Band of Skulls?

Yeah, I hope they don't think Alice Cooper fills our metal needs.
I would stress yet though, I recall last year, all the reggae fans were upset by the complete lack of reggae, but the additions featured several reggae acts. That could be metal this year for us.
Also, surprised by no Cage the Elephant or YMSB, thought they were both locks.
Bonnaroo 2008-2013

March 16 Arcade Fire
April 29 Arcade Fire
Sept 4 Wilco
Sept 9 The Hold Steady

Last year, I decided that I would take the year off in 2012. After seeing the lineup, it looks like I'll be sticking to that decision. While it's not a bad lineup, I'm not very impressed either. Most of the bands that I would want to see are touring in the area before or after Roo or I've already seen them.

I would be really surprised not to see at least Santogold and at least one of the other bands you mentioned added later. Miike Snow and Band of Skulls would be great additions, and Santogold was a sure thing in my mind so I still have my hopes up!
Hate to see a fellow Kentuckian not going to Roo this year. So who would you have wanted to see on the lineup?
It's just underwhelming. I have seen the Shins and Beach Boys before and wasn't impressed. I hate Phish, Ben Folds, Skrillex, Foster the People, and City and Colour. If they replaced Phish with Jack White and Foster the People with some one like Primus or something I'd be sold. I also would have loved to see Prince or Bowie but I realize that's wishful thinking, haha. And Ludacris as the top rap act? That sucks! I was hoping maybe Snoop and Dre, Snoop Dog was fun in '09, also Nas and Jay Z were great in the past, I just don't like Ludacris at all. I'd also like to see some jazz.

two words: SPECTRUM ROAD! they are your jazz fix bro!

Beach Boys are such a waste of a headliner cmooooooooonnn, they sounded very weak at the Grammys how are they going to play in the Manchester heat?
I will most likely still be going, alot of my friends are extremely excited about the line-up, just cant get over how big of a let down it is for how excited I have been the last few weeks.
That being said- how long until they add the rest of the lineup usually?

Guh?
The top rap act is the Roots, followed by BlackStar, then Ludacris. Maybe you don't like the lineup because you either need your eyes checked, can't read, or don't know who these acts are.
The hip-hop is terrific. The Roots, BlackStar, Ludacris, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Das Racist? Sheeeeeit.
Sorry, I thought Luda was billed above all them. I wasn't looking at the lineup when I posted that.
I LOVE The Roots and Black Star, seeing them would be a dream come true almost. but I cannot stand Childish Gambino and the rest of the hip hop.
