John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I co-host a hip hop show for 90.3 The Rock (University of Tennessee), so I'm pretty excited to see Danny Barnes, Kendrick Lamar, and Childish Gambino. All should put on fantastic shows.
Kurt Vile, Dale Earndhart Jr. Jr, Fruit Bats, Delta Spirit, and Grouplove should have some awesome indie-heavy sets.
Phantogram, Flying Lotus, Battles (these are pushing undercard) will be like Moogfest all over again. All should be incredible
I'd definitely recommend Fitz & the Tantrums. From the high billed 'indie' acts on this lineup, I've seen The Shins, Foster the People, and Bon Iver and I thought Fitz was better than all 3.

Went searching for some electronic music off of the sheet I did not know. I don't know how this guy ever passed on the radar but I have been listening to it for the last 40 mins and its amazing.

1. Ben Howard's most recent album is great. Listen to "Keep Your Head Up" on that album to start with. 2. Trampled By Turtles is a great, simple bluegrass band. 3. Tune-Yards whole album. 4. "Naive" by The Kooks 5. Charles Bradely is Sam Cooke-ish soul music. It's new music but sounds old in the same way that Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings do. Just listen to the whole album.

tUnE-yArDs cannot be missed: one of the greatest, most unique shows I've ever seen. Everyone should also check out: SBTRKT, Danny Brown, Charles Bradley, and Laura Marling.
2012 shows: 3/23 - The Men 4/9 - Of Monsters & Men 4/21 - Bassnectar 5/2 - Shpongle 5/22 - Jack White 6/1 - tUnE-yArDs 6/7-6/10 - Bonnaroo 2012 6/18 - Destroyer 6/20 - The Tallest Man On Earth 6/23-6/24 - Governor's Ball

Mimosa and Big Gigantic could be an amazing late night tent. Danny Brown and Kendrick Lamar put out the two best rap records last year (maybe outside of ASAP Rocky).

Reggae: Check out SOJA. I've seen them three times live, they're awesome. They feature lots of horns live which I love. Unfortunately their singers voice is average sounding on albums, but trust me they will not disappoint live.
Songs to check out: Here I am, True Love, I Don't Wanna Wait, Rest of My Life, You Don't Know Me

How about I tell you the acts I don't want to see:
Skrillex Flogging Molly City and Colour Bad Brains Black Lips The Joy Formidable Kathleen Edwards Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk EMA The Lonely Forest Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr Soja
The undercard this year is pretty amazing.
Fact: There will be some excruciating conflicts this year. Brings lots if water and a decent pair of running shoes.
I'd definitely recommend Fitz & the Tantrums. From the high billed 'indie' acts on this lineup, I've seen The Shins, Foster the People, and Bon Iver and I thought Fitz was better than all 3.
They are actually about 3 or 4 or my must see list. Great old. You have no idea how many people have asked me what decade they are from when hearing them. Most are shocked when I tell them the album came out last year.

They might wanna look for a new host cause I've never heard of Danny Barnes
