Now they have the additions listed on the bonnaroo iPhone app if you update the data. I've been looking a few times a day, and it just showed up this time. It's under lineup. They have to make it official, the words been out forever now.

The iphone app doesnt have pictures for most of the ads (like the website) but their is a picture and an album for savages. I guess this confirms that its a musician rather than the oliver stone movie

There is something called PratikArtist on the ipad app. Its not on the alphabetical lineup on the website. Im thinking it could just be like a template for a new artist
Yup, superb lineup, but look at the maze you have to go through to find the latest additions.
That's because they aren't done working on it most likely and don't want people to easily access it until they are ready. Seems logical to me why it's hidden like that for now. They aren't ready to announce it so they don't make it easily available.
Not done working as in making additions prominent on the website, or not done working on signing one more (big?) addition or smaller additions before making an announcement? Things have been a little weird this year.

In my post the "aren't done working" is referring to the work on the website itself and not about Bonnaroo adding more bands. I imagine they are still working on stuff on their end including adding biographies and links for the new additions as well as setting up the schedule and making sure that works well.
Yes they did. I wouldn't look much into it though...the way they've been handling the website this year is juvenile. I assume he'll be back...but who knows it could have fallen through.

What are the chances that the odd names (cosmic suckerhead and wild club) are just place holders for other bands that Bonnaroo doesnt want to reveal the names of yet? Even if its just in the alphabetical listing. Maybe there is some significance to the place holder names. It's a long shot, but I'm hoping for Cosmic suckerhead=Atoms for Peace, Wild Club=Wild Flag. I know this has a .1% chance of happening, but I would do backflips if this was true.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Yeah their web team is quackin up big time which is a shame because this is one of the best lineups the fest has ever had. But if that means less tickets sold (doubt it) I'm all for it
Last year, we were told on May 11 that tickets were about to sell out. By May 16, GA tickets were all gone. It's May 14 right now, and there has yet to be a warning.
While I do think the festival will end up selling out this year, it's interesting to note that while other festivals have been selling tickets at record paces, Bonnaroo has not.
I'd be happy if it didn't sell out. That means less people on the farm. More time for my friend to buy their ticket (since she is still unsure). And a reality check for Bonnaroo that their marketing and lineup does matter. While I'm pleased with the lineup, it does seem like a drop in star power from year's before. There aren't many rare, interesting acts at the top of the lineup.

I kind of get what you are saying, but for me, 2011 was a very weak linup. seeing Buffalo Springfield dust off their music and Eminem spit rhymes was not going to be the fun weekend of the summer for me. by definition, you arent going to see a lot of rare, interesting acts at the top of the lineup.
i suppose i am jaded this year - probably my two favorite acts in all of music are radiohead and phish - and to have them on the same lineup? holy crap.
RHCP doesnt really lift up my skirt, but im sure it will be fun.
imho, the undercard is stacked. but its full of (what i tend to call) festie bands as opposed to whatever is popular at the moment. this is going to be a very solid weekend of music. that said, i think it is lacking in latenight EDM.

I think they officially "sell out" every year, they just change the number of tickets it takes to sell out to meet the number of tickets actually sold. So I wonder what the sell out mark will be this year and there will be as many people as last year.
Plus, everybody knows that Bonnaroo sold out to MTV years ago

I think rolling out so many big names late is hurting Bonnaroo. People look at initial lineups and decide if they want to go. The initial lineup had 3 big headliners, but they're all on extensive tours this summer. There was a great undercard but they were weak in the Sub-HL area. I think having GZA, Rod and Gab and even Kenny Rodgers in the initial lineup would have really helped their buzz.
Personally, if it wasn't for the fact I just really wanted to go to Bonnaroo this year practically irregardless of lineup, I could have seen basically every band on the initial lineup in my hometown, probably for a similar price of what tickets and travel to Roo will cost.
that said, i think it is lacking in latenight EDM.
i am very surprised roo isnt sold out.
I think this says it all.
I made the point awhile back. I Think latenight EDM is what appeals most to the 18-24 year old demographic that makes up the majority of festival goers. At least in this region of the U.S.
Put Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, and Girl Talk on the same lineup, and your fest should sell out.
I make this assumption based purely off of the festival goers I know personally IRL who aren't going to Bonnaroo because they don't think there is good EDM this year.
