So I think if you're disappointed in additions at this point you're being ridiculous. Everyone knew they were going to add some heavier music. And if they didn't it would be extremely poopy for everyone whos come to expect it from Roo. Glenn Danzig and Maynard James Keenan are both legends. Keenan has also dabbled in stand up so we might even get a comedy set from him. For everyone pissy about Fun. I get it that it wouldn't be everyones hopes and dreams for an addition but I think the bashing is a bit over the top. I grew up seeing Anathallo in all ages venues in Michigan and it'll be incredible to see Drew on stage again, much less to the voice of Nate Ruess from The Format. If you can't appreciate these acts for their music you should at least appreciate them for their impact on the industry.

These additions are completely meh to me. Where's the reggae, bluegrass, and jamtronica? Really hoping for some good additions in those genres since there aren't any bands currently on the lineup for them. Well, other than Trampled by turtles(bluegrass) and I refuse to count soja as they're just dready white kids playing bad reggae.
Reggae - Toots, a Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse Bluegrass - Yonder, Railroad Earth, Greensky, Stringdusters, Steve Martin, Emmit-Nershi Band, Sam Bush Jamtronica - Conspirator, Lotus, Particle, New Mastersounds, The Werks, Zoogma
I think you'd have to include the Punch Brothers, Devil Makes Three and Sarah Jarosz in that group in case you missed them. I wouldn't mind adding more but those three with TbT make a pretty quality showing.
You know what we need? Some quacking ANGERFIST!!!! Late Night 4am-6am!!!! You guys would be begging for the Lunar Stage back by the end of it!
Damn, that is some unrelenting shiznit right there! It reminds me of my ol' industrial days like KMFDM and Funker Vogt. In fact, I recommend Funker Vogt for you Phi.
Sigh I want some Swedish House Mafia added now so bad! I know it would NEVER happen. But they could definitely be a Sat night LN What Stage headliner. RHCP > SHM This new song is so fucking good!
I'm still annoyed we don't have Lotus yet. We could use some good Jamtronic in the mix.
As far as the additions go, i'd say i'm pretty happy over only a few acts. Metal/punk gets a boost with the Danzig Legacy. There are definitely a few Danzig/Misfits songs I like. Puscifer falls into those "I would never pay to see them at a venue but worth checking out at a festival" category.
The Cave Singers are a great add. Check these guys out folks.

If I get 1 or 2 of these I will be very pleased.
I've been saying the same thing, and I'm down with any of those being added. Steve Martin is probably out of the question since Steep Canyon Rangers are booked that weekend. I've been dying to see the New Mastersounds for years. Have they ever played Bonnaroo?
And SOJA is to reggae what Mac Miller is to hip-hop. Only difference is there are other decent hip-hops acts on the lineup. Throw us reggae fans a bone

Including Fun. & The Beach Boys in the same category is totally ridiculous & shows an incredible lack of musical understanding. The Beach Boys are legend & were absolutely groundbreakers in their day. Their popularity rivaled the Beatles & Brian Wilson is a musical genius. They have stood the test of time & have influenced so many bands after them. Total ridiculous statement there....
Wow, thanks for informing me of my ignorance. I had no idea. I wasn't aware that the lyrical genius of "Kokomo" and "Help me Rhonda" had such an big part in shaping todays rock music. I was under the impression that (even though very technical) music was for enjoyment, but what do I know. I am grateful there are musical scholars like yourself to put me in my place.
Galactic - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - 3 or 4 small bands
i hope your wrong, clap your hands say yeah do absolutely nothing for me, and saw galactic at one of the roo's past (can't even remember which anymore) and i was very bored
Bored? At a Galactic show? This is a first for me... I ho was just a bad overall experience because they're always a highlight of roo for me and beyond my personal opinion they just bring the funk and crank up the energy to a whole new level.

Alright i'll retract my bluegrass complaint but I still stand by the fact we need some reggae and jamtronica. Always loved easing into saturday with some good reggae.

Not the same Beach Boys.
Think Pet Sounds and Smile, as that's what you're gonna get. Not Kokomo or Help Me, Rhonda.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I'd like to see The Colour Blinds as an addition... However, I don't think they are planning any gigs 'til late fall... They're pretty awesome though...

Yeah, reggae seems to me to be the most sorely lacking genre. It would be great to see a quality add but I don't think it's going to happen.

There is no chance of arguing your way out of comparing fun and The Beach Boys. Just put this one in the L column and call it a day.

You know this, I know this, and I'm guessing the majority of people here know this. But there is no reasoning with someone who has (apparently) no knowledge of the Pet Sounds era. She is thinking of County-Fair-Touring-Beach Boys, when that's not what will be at Bonnaroo at all.
My mom and I used to sing Kokomo at the top of our lungs when it came on. For that reason only I hope they play it.
I'll try and dig it up but I read an interview with Brian that said the tour is gonna focus on those records (Pet Sounds & Smile).
I dunno. Brian Wilson's Beach Boys is totally different from Mike Love's Beach Boys. That's why this is such a big deal.
Yeah, I don't think nearly as big a deal is being made out of this as it should be. I guess that's because I view Pet Sounds as one of the 3 best albums ever. To me, this is way bigger than Buffalo Springfield or any other reunion we've ever had at Bonnaroo. People will say that they're going to sound like crap, or whatever. All I know is that I'm going to see them perform Pet Sounds and Smile songs with Brian Wilson in the fold. That's all that matters to me.

I've actually let my friends start believing it's gonna suck. I refuse to fight them about it anymore.

Righteous. With double entendre fully intentioned, Brian Wilson is a certifiable musical genius. Homages to his genius are everywhere from every musical genre.
Here's John Cale's (Velvet Underground) homage. The fading finish is especially beautiful, "California wine tastes fine..."; See/hear:
