[Saturday Rant Part 2] So here's a potential Saturday Line-Up card:
Red Hot Chili Peppers The Roots Shrillex Flogging Molly Mac Miller Childish Gambino Dispatch Puscifer Danzig Legacy Alice Cooper Umphrey's McGee Black Star Das Racist Big Gigantic SBTRKT Mogwai Yelawolf Battles Superjam Mimosa Spectrum Road Santigold The Temper Trap The Devil Makes Three ALO Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires Darondo
Would you go to this if it was a one-day festival? 10 years ago this line-up would have been outstanding, but there's not much on here to clue you in that it's 2012 not 2002.
It's mostly frustrating is that the weekend lineup is great, but this looks like what were getting for Saturday, the real heart of the festival. To be fair, I'm thrilled to have a chance to see Darondo and SBTRKT and the bottom half of the line-up is good. And I know plenty of people are perfectly happy with this lineup, but people also have every right to be pissed off by it too.
I don't know if I would have said that I don't "give a poop" about these bands, but ya, I don't give a poop about RHCP, Skrillex, Flogging Molly, Mac Miller, Dispatch and Puscifer, and those are 6/8 top Saturday bands. So, ya, I have runninguphills back on this one
[/Saturday Rant Part 2]
RHCP is not getting the saturday headlining spot over radiohead. and 10 years ago you wouldn't have half the bands you listed there.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Please Mister, don't say that. At least let me hold out hope for a Roots LN.
I think both will be LN actually. Floggin Molly should get Gogols spot from last year. Come to think of it there are a lot of LN acts on this list of yours, but there are what 8 ln acts since three are in one tent.
Skrillex Roots Umph SBTRKT Floggin Molly Danzig Alice Cooper Puscifer
That is one hell of a evening, especially if they sneak black star in with The roots.

Hey plibt Christians have Jesus, Inforoosters have Insider.
alright i feel like im being a troll about some of this i really. but foster the people shouldnt be in the top 10! period! I've never heard of Mac Miller and they have this guy billed higer then MOGWAI (they wrote mogwai fears satan! a 15 minute masterpiece) I'm not saying this line up is all that bad. but there are some pretty big gaps. and yeah i had to do some digging and i found i really like trampled by turtles and sbtrkt and few others. there are some bands i cant wait to see that i havent been able to see like mogwai, st. vincent and flying lotus. i just feel like those other festival are going to have or have bands that are more revalent then say dispatch or alice cooper even ludacris. its really just my opinion and i should just keep it too myself i guess.
Hmmm, I don't mean this in any offensive manner, but, how old are you?
Reason to Run, Not Walk: Virtually every time this Harlem-bred rapper and his A$AP Mob crew (a saber-toothed, East Coast cousin to L.A.'s Odd Future collective) takes over the stage, something tumultuous is bound to happen. Though recent sets at CMJ and SXSW have ended in turmoil, both Rocky's pit-stoking energy and his slurry hooks (see: last year's likable-in-spite-of-itself LIVELOVEA$AP mixtape) are undeniable. Need More? Will also be playing the Bonnaroo, Bamboozle, Primavera Sound, and Pitchfork festivals, in addition to a slew of European dates opening for Drake alongside Kendrick Lamar. DAVID BEVAN
-Not sure if anybody noticed this or if it was a mistake but it seems as if ASAP will be an addition.

Ugh, not this turd again. I can't STAND this guy, he's totally carried by the production, he can't write worth crap. His lyrics honestly have an amount of depth equivalent to Lil Wayne, with an albeit, much better voice and flow.
Not that there's that much more substance, but I'd MUCH rather see Odd Future on the lineup. I mean, would you rather have OF, or a artistically lazy knock off group, who's just trying to grasp at the nu-tang market OF created?

I'm not a RHCP fan. I'll try not to be a hater, but I just don't get it. That saturday lineup is definitely a little weak by comparison, but we're still getting a great lineup. Even if you're not a huge fan of those acts, it would be an absolute CHORE to NOT have fun at Umphrey's McGee or Alice Cooper.
So the Lolla lineup is stacked, and that's great, it really is. But many of us Roo vets will agree on this: Bonnaroo brings more to the table than other feasts, in general. Better late night scene, better camping scene, better camaraderie... and it just feels more special than other feasts. Maybe that's just me.
All who agree, please join me in yelling BUTTSCRATCHER! as we near the arch.

The Roots, Childish Gambino, Dispatch, Puscifer, Umprheys, Black Star, SBTRKT, Mogwai, Battles, Superjam, Spectrum Road, Temper Trap, Charles Bradley, Darondo all on the same day? You bet I would. Hell, I wouldn't even get to see everything I wanted to.
I'm just annoyed that in the last 2 fests Roo has missed out on DFA1979, At The Drive-In, Jack White, and M83 when they're at all these other american fests. Especially DFA and White. DFA1979 was everywhere last summer except for Roo, and it's looking like the same story with Jack this year.

Is that a thing? The "BUTTSCRATCHER"? I remember hearing that several years ago and being somewhat confused.
I thought it was something like the first 'Roo, when my friends and I heard all sorts of substances we'd never heard of being offered, so we started walking around saying "HARVEY! Get your mad-phatty HARVEY". We had a couple takers. Dude, you want a substance you've never heard of? Show a little discretion!

i will say after looking at the set times for coachella if we dont get anymore adds im ok with that now. i would rather watch a hour to hour and half show then a 45 to 75 min show. SO GO BONNAROO!

Which acts do you think that are only going 45 minutes at Coachella will go longer at Roo.
The no real late nights at Coachella is the one that gets me. Causes waaaay to many conflicts although I'm sure we'll have ours too.

I agree. I was initially allow down on the lineup thinking there wasn't enough in the mid-card (especially on the high mid-card), but after looking at Coachella's set times, I am pretty glad to be going to Roo instead of Coachella. The late night's alone will set our lineup apart from the others.

Agreed that Coachella set times squash the festival experience a little bit. However, that Sunday run of Justice, AT The Drive In, Dre and Snoop is pretty awesome and I'm not even a big ATDI fan.
On a related note, Lollapalooza killed it this year. Justice, Sigur Ros, The Weeknd, M83, Jack White, Sabbath, Toro Y Moi. Knocked it out of the park. My only Caveat is that you have to choose between 3 or four headliners each night. Last year you picked either MMJ, Eminem, Beirut or Pretty Lights if I remember correctly. I don't really feel like having to pick one of four headliners to go to. So Lollapalooza wins the line-up crown this year, but how many of those acts would I actually get to see if I went? Remains to be seen I guess.

I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
These guys are a joke. That video makes it an easy decision to skip this show, bunch of babies acting "hard", it's sad really...
You realize that he got beer cans thrown at his face? Honestly, I have a pretty bad temper and if I was playing a show and trying to talk to the crowd and someone started throwing shit at me, I might lose it as well. Give the dude a break.
