It be a nice souvenir to have. I keep all my hard ticket stubs in a box in my room. My dad gave me his collection which has concerts and playoff tickets dating back to the 60'. It's one of the favorite things in my possession.
I have my wristband in the box but a ticket would really add to the collection nicely. I understand the green way of things and I'm all for saving planet Earth... but I want a ticket.
No tickets is sad, but the upgrade to cloth is stellar news. I ripped off that plastic one right after I left centeroo on Sunday. This, fixing the ditch, and the return of the sonic forest were my three big hopes for this "off season." I was two years too late with my first Roo to see the sonic forest, I've had to compensate by seeing just about every video and reading just about everything I can on it. Two out of three ain't bad though.
Great news and I'm sure no one appreciates this more than the friendly folks working at Bonnaroo who had to be buried with problems last year. Those plastic wristbands were just not designed to last through 4 days, so many people needed to have them replaced, a really unnecessary distraction.
Yeah, I loved the souvenir ticket but I'm honestly okay with them not sending out tickets. Even if it is just to save money, spun as a "green angle," it does save resources and that makes me a happy. Couldn't be happier about the cloth wristbands, though.
I remember hearing from friends that went last year that the plastic ones were terrible.. As most have mentioned- they fell off, they weren't meant to last all weekend, and they were itchy. I'm glad the cloth ones are back- and so are a few friends that have experienced them before as well!
I think last years plastic wristbands have been unfairly demonized maybe a little.
Yea I've been saying that for a while now. The plastic ones last year were smooth and fine. Not like the hard plastic of the first year I went (2005). That was uncomfortable. The ones last year were really not a big deal at all.

Outside of them being plastic the overall design last year was not very good at all. From the standpoint of shape, mechanical clasp and RF performance they were overall below average compared to every other fest I went to that employed RF technology. The RFID tags for Coach look improved as well. I think we'll see reasonable advances in function and form over the next few years, there is a ton of work being done in these industries currently.
I don't think it's unfair at all. Was it horribly unfortable? No. But after three years of more comfortable and a more pleasin' aesthetic goin' back to plastic was just ridiculous. I do think my '07 bracelet bothered me more than '11s did, but the downgrade still came outta left field to me.
I agree with all that. The big deal about them switching to plastic for me was the fact that I couldn't wear it after the fest. I still haven't taken off my '10 bracelet.
Tickets are a hug thing for me. I have a big ribbon board with ticket stubs from all the shows I go to. It's so sad not to have new Bonnaroo tickets to put up every year. They should sell souvenir tickets in the merch tents or something. I want a physical ticket.

i guess it depends on why you disliked them. my wristband stopped working three times last year for no apparent reason. i was never rough with it nor did i do anything to inadvertently damage the band in any way. i've never had this problem with any RFID cloth bands, so that's why i was pulling for them this year. those other things (ie comfort and a cool souvenir) are just perks, imo.
with all that being said, it's possible i just had really shitty luck last year. just wish i hadn't wasted 2+ hrs waiting for replacements when i could have been listening to music
I think it had to do with which notch they were done up in. The woman who did my check in put mine through the 7th hole. For those of you with your wristbands still, you can see that's not exactly loose. I asked the check in person to put it on a little looser but to no avail; "That's going to come off [if it's not restricting the flow of blood to] your hand if it's not this [hand-numbingly] tight"
Last year was our first Roo so we have nothing to compare it too. The only thing I didn't like about last years was the size of it. It took a bit to get used to but other than that we didn't have any trouble with it and didn't even notice it after the first day.
I really didn't mind the plastic ones that much, but I just prefer the look and vibe of the cloth ones. Having a plastic wristband to me just clashes with the earthy vibe I get when I'm at Bonnaroo.
The plastic wristband was a bit uncomfortable. Aside from that, the irregular shape of the wristband led to tearing, which would stink if you didn't notice it tore and fell-off.
i refuse to wear such a band...unless the unicorns involved where volunteers and the children involved were crying tears of joy...in that case i can't effin wait to rock such a band!
I definitely prefer the cloth wristband. The plastic ones of years past were not so terrible, but the ink always wore off from all the sweat and stank. My question is what is the point of the RFID tag? Why do they feel the need to know where we are at all times? I haven't been in two years so I'm just a little confused to why they would need to put those on our wristbands.

they had scanners where u had to scan ur wrist going into....N i think out of Centeroo.
Yeah, you scan when you go in and out. The main point I guess is to prevent wristband sharing, which I know some people who have done it in the past. Toss your wristband over the wall once you're in, another friend puts it on, comes in, etc. So this way, they know who is in and out of centeroo, and if you try to go in with a wristband that has already been scanned in but not out, it probably makes an alert noise and then security will deal with you.
