Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I agree with Bacon. I don't know if it counts as "mid-game" but it's been an unwritten rule that players can't change their names. It was reiterated when SFA named himself SuperFancyTits 6 or so games back. It's hard to follow for everyone.
You know you can just click on the persons name and VIOLA!! their username is there. But to appease the supporters of an unwritten rule, that unless I had no life and just read past Mafia games that I wasn't even a part of I would have no way of knowing.....I will change. Even though the Ref, who is in charge of this game seemed to have no problem with it.
Tightly wound much people? This is setting up to be the worst Mafia game ever. It's the third round that we are supposed to go from having fun to being too serious.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Long day. All caught up....What in the name of king kong's balls happened here?! This game makes me laugh more than most things in my life right now, so thanks all! That said, I agree with bacon here, mike d's self vote made me suspicious too. (Even though it's probably just a joke) So for now...

Yeah but add 3 new names with alcohol and I couldn't manage to keep it all straight! I kept checking and rechecking.. with mafia, we need to be able to figure out who says what more clearly! Thank you for switching back.
CMP, you think MikeD deserves to be outright voted off??
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Hmmmm. Mike D, are you wanting to not play, so you are OK with being voted off? I don't find you voting for yourself in the first round to be suspicious at all, but it does signal that maybe you do not want to play. The fact that anyone would try to make it out to be suspicious is, well, suspicious. I've seen it done in other rounds, trying to draw a sympathy card or do the hissy fit diversion. But first round? Doesn't seem logical to me.
Also, usually the only people who are OK with someone being voted off without a run-off are Mafia. A player voting for themselves is like Manna from the gods for them. It allows them to easily get an innocent player or two in the runoff---off setting any risk of one of their own ending up in a run-off. Or, in this case, possibly get an innocent player voted off straight off.

Nope, I think he'll switch his own vote off of himself, so I'm not too worried about that!
So your vote still confuses me. You assume he will end up with two votes, then? So your goal was to get him in the runoff?
Mike "tried to pull" the same thing last round too. That doesn't mean that he is innocent, but it certainly makes it much less suspicious then it might have been normally.

OK, so I had this post halfway typed out last night before inforoo backed itself up and I lost it. Catching up this morning and again right now have made even more comfortable putting it up.
I think LLL is on to something here. Why would Mike D vote for himself? I skimmed back to game 31, and he has never done it before that I could find (although admittedly, it was a very quick skim through my reference set). This could play out 4 ways: 1 - an EAP style hissy fit when she is trying to avoid dying while mafia. 2 - a Mr. Belgian Manders style play where he didn't want to play anymore. 3 - Mike D is trying a new tactic a la Bacon to control the game and pick who goes in the runoff. 4 - He is being a smart@ss.
I really don't like it because it can break so many ways, but I think it is #4 with a dash of 3 thrown in there. That brings us to the kind of these shenanigans, Bacon, the one who put him in there in the first place.
His style is frustrating because it relies on pure luck. In the aborted game, he said this:
I am so gone. One disadvantage of kicking ass and taking names is it normally results in early departure in the following game.
I promise you I am as much a towny this game as last game.
The problem is, looking back at least to game 34 (the last he was mafia), his method NEVER worked except for last game with EAP. Every time he pulled his bullcrap, he guessed wrong. Even in most of the runoffs, he guessed wrong on the mafia. EAP last round was a very lucky guess and even then, he debated moving to CSTNZ, (who was also mafia, but less obviously so at that point) EAP only got killed on a last minute vote change by Sarah, or I would have been dead as a townie.
Also, If you go back and read through Mafia 34, Bacon subtlety tossed in KDogg and let KDogg go at Wolf, since Wolf voted for him as well.
I am very comfortable with my vote right now. It is too early to have definitive opinions, but I want Bacon to stay in the runoff. Ideally, I would like CMP in there too, for the same reasons Bonnie said. First Mike D needs to get back in here and change his vote, or the mafia are going to get an easy first kill. We definitely need a runoff to dig a bit deeper in this.
Also, as a note, I will be gone starting tomorrow morning until Sunday afternoon. I will be heading down to St. Louis to watch some playoff hockey! As in my first game, I will continue to post on my cell phone, but will probably not have access to my computer. Just a heads up in advance.
One final note, Mike D, if you are mafia, and I am defending you again, I am setting your tent on fire at roo with you in it. That's my new go to threat, but it works here. You logged on this morning after the votes were already on you, and you didn't change or post. I really would like to hear from you.
And before anyone says anything, yes, I know log in times mean very little, but as discussed last game, there IS some meaning hidden there.

Ok maybe I didn't read some subtlety in Mike D's post but I thought he just voted himself as a joke. A joke that I am saying is trying to be a diversion from the fact he is guilty.
I never said I wanted to vote him off without a run-off. I very specifically said that I assumed Mike D was going to change his vote to someone else once he had votes. That's why I asked CMP to vote for Mike D. I want Mike D in the run-off.
I response to your Manna of the Gods thing that is BS. If I were mafia I probably wouldn't have voted for Mike D because the most likely scenario would have been that he changed his vote to me and forced me in the run-off (which is happening anyways).

1. I explain what I think Mike D is doing twice but thanks for calling me a smarta@@
2. If you can find some day 1 strategy that isn't completely based off luck please tell me. I've been playing this game for a while (a lot longer than you btw) and I've yet to find any sure way to find mafia day 1.
3. I realize that I am the easiest person to vote for at this point. I think there is a very good chance that mafia stacks on me this round and its run-off. It's a very easy way to kill off a towny who knows what he is doing without much being read into it.
4. I am keeping my vote on Mike D at least until he comes and changes his vote and explains what he is thinking/doing.
5. Duddits is there any reason you voted for me? Is there someone you would consider changing your vote to, to put them in the run-off instead of me? DO you have any questions for me? I realize that your vote is likely just for lack of a voting partner but i think the mafia are going to try to take advantage of that to try to kill me.

LLL>>>SFA>>>Viking
I think the runoff should be between Viking, Bacon and another player other than Mike D. I don't like 3 person run-offs personally, but something is weird here. Almost every other player except me seems to have a hard on for 3 person run-offs,yet no one is even suggesting it. Seems the people controlling the game right now find this current situation advantageous, which means something is wrong.

You mean exactly what I did against EAP last game? Oh wait I was a towny and EAP was mafia. The only reason I stuck on to her was her weird little vote change right at the beginning of the game. You know I am a Mafia disciple of Kdogg and you would also know that Kdogg is of the opinion that voting for one's self is normally an act trying of to hide something.

I really do not want to move off Bacon, but I have to defend myself. I am comfortable being in the run-off, even though I really do not want to be. I don't have anything to hide and have proved it over and over. It is also interesting that the person with the most posts in the thread is accusing me of controlling the game when all I have done is post some factual data on Bacon and Mike D. The nice thing about facts is that this info is all there for you to go and check, which I have said in past games. This is the same crap EAP pulled last game with the "ignore the facts, there is something fishy about him" thing that almost killed me in round 1.
Also LLL, if you look in my post, I said I definitely wanted a runoff and I want Mike D to get on here and have a stance. I WAS comfortable with my vote for Bacon, and still feel he is suspicious, but the only one I see trying to control the game with absolutely no back up at this point is you. You have had several posts defending Mike D. That combined with the name game fun-time (which I admit I was a part of) that you started earlier in the game, You have led the charge on every shift so far. Therefore:
WLViking >> roonectar >> SFA >> Bacon >> LLL
I still am very suspicious about Bacon, but looking back, LLL has just as much to answer for.

I know you have played more than me, which is why I think it is insane you keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. You got lucky last round. We could have killed EAP or CSTNZ and been right. You just guessed right Day 1. Every other game, you were dead wrong.
I REALLY suggest people go back and read mafia 34 re:Bacon. You are easy to vote for since up until LLL's post you were the most suspicious. Now, you are just the 2nd or 3rd most suspicious depending on Mike D's post.
Bacon my vote you was simply for you lacking a vote at that time. That being said I'm kinda intrigued that a return vote wasn't reciprocated. On the other hand you openly admit your dislike for 'voting partners', so i guess it makes sense. I don't find you suspicious really.
Well would you please consider picking someone else to be the third person in the run-off? I would personally like to see WLV, LLL, and one of the quite people
