We're coming from PA, about an hour south of Erie, and It's about a 7 hour drive, or at least that's what they've told me. We're leaving Wednesday after work(like 5:30pm) and driving straight there.. we'll probably be setting up camp at like 3 in the am, but its better than 8, 9, or 10. I guess it just all depends on what your body is like, and if you need a lot of rest or not.. But I would say If you are going to stop and stay at a motel/hotel, be aware that the next day setting up is going to be brutal in the heat.

Well i'm not to worried about the elements ( I go backpacking in Tennessee all the time ) So heats not an issue setting up the tent isn't an issue except maybe for my friend whose never been camping haha whats the primary reason you guys go one way or the other? the main reason i'm leaning towards thursday is so i'll be well rested but then wednesday is like be set up early party one more day have allllll day thrusday to chill
You don't want to be sitting in your car wondering if you'll get through the line in time to see your favorite bands.
Plus, don't they give out a lot of comedy theatre tickets early Thursday right when Centeroo opens? I've never seen a comedy show because I could never get tickets. I've heard that you have to go in Thursday morning for a shot at em.

Heat is always an issue. I have lived in Tennessee my entire life. There is nothing like Bonnaroo heat.
I am going in Wednesday mostly because that is when the rest of our group is going in. I was thinking on doing it this year anyway. The whole routine of get up early in the morning, drive 3 hours and change hours to Bonnaroo, wait in line for hours then set up camp takes a lot out of me, and I have ended up missing stuff late Thursday night the last two years because I was so tired by 10 or 11pm.
And like someone said on the page before this- If you get in and set up wednesday night/early thursday morn then you have all day to kind of relax, learn where you're at, how to find you're camp from centeroo before the whole place gets so crowded you can hardly move. That's why We're going on wednesday night. Granted- I'm new too, but the guys I'm going with have experienced a few Roo's and they want to get in there on wednesday night. They hated getting there thursday, waiting in line for 6+ hours(which sometimes you get lucky and are only in line for like 1-3) then having to set up, then trying to catch shows.. it's just exhausting. It's like being rushed.. Does that make sense?

My group is planning on coming in on wednesday.... going to get there early, probably around 5. We would rather be in the 007 camps. We were there in 2010, last year we came in early thursday and were in camp Peter Griffin and it was horrible. 007/POD 1 was way better and thats what we are aiming for this year.
I had so much fun the first night watching cars drive by. I thought that was one of the best parts. For me Roo starts the minute you start the drive. If im going to Roo its going to start Wednesday! I can sleep on Tuesday
