I like that he is trying something that isn't done all the time, but I don't understand how it will work for them to play on the train. It seems like it would be superhard to get anywhere near where the artist playing is, but then again, that's less of a draw for EDM shows, isn't it?

I dont think they are actually playing on the train. Its just their form of transportation to each city. There definitely isnt a set of train tracks that runs through Fort York in Toronto. lol
"In news from north of the border, 5 Mounties were killed today trying to rescue a herd of moose from the Skrillex Full Flex Express. Wildlife Experts say the Wub Wub sound coming from the train attracted the animals from miles around. Tragedy occurred when a Moose met a girl named molly and laid down on the track to "feel the bass", causing the train to strike the moose and derail, trapping several other moose as the music continued. We will be following this story and bring you updates on the hour."

From the website: "At each stop, a festival event will take place, featuring performances by Skrillex, Pretty Lights, Diplo, Grimes, KOAN Sound and Tokimonsta on multiple stages to crowds in the tens of thousands.."
DAVE- They aren't gonna play on the train except "with each other" (somehow, maybe). Look up "Festival Express", it's from like 1970.......it was The Dead, Joplin and the Band doing a tour via train, and the magic was that they were with each other on the trains jamming all night watching the views etc. A lot of that is kind of silly in regards to dubstep DJs.
BONZAI- Hell yea, gay is a great term to describe things that are lame. My 100% homo friends use that all the time. "Faggy" is what you think I'm saying, I feel. Gay is lame now. You can thank Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
If you don't think that Hangout poster is gay, I don't know what to tell you mama

Why don't you ask inforoo to put in another word filter to stop me from being so offensive? If use of the word gay is really that bothersome for you, you must have a very hard time surviving in the real world.

Ah yes of course, must be something wrong with US and not something wrong with the way you speak.
Theres no filter because the word gay can be used in a correct context and not need to be filtered out. But when someone just calls everything they don't like "gay" theres probably something that needs correcting.

Word filters don't fix ignorance.
It's not a matter of what you may believe the word "means". I've been known to call things gay when I mean lame in real life....but I've tried to cut it out and just ya know....say "lame". Works just as well. See, I know I don't mean it in an offensive way. I don't think any less of homosexual individuals when I would say it. Here, I'll let Louis CK describe it better:
It's all well and good that you and many others don't mean "homosexual person" when you say something is "gay" or "faggy". That's understood. But you need to understand as well that not everyone thinks like you. Not everyone feels the same way about those words because we all have had different experiences throughout life. You can't expect everyone to just lay back and feel comfortable that you are calling something "gay" as a negative word. Anyway, here once again is the man Louis CK giving a bit of a better explanation than I could (fast forward to 5:20 for the main point):
quote author=caddyshaq board=otherfestivals thread=28537 post=1078767 time=1336832889]You guys are being super gay.

It is not overly offensive but it certainly reinforces my image of you as a bro with a popped collar pink shirt drinking a Miller Lite, and throwing cigarette butts on the ground. Typically people of intelligence can find better ways than that to express themselves.
So because I think Skrillex et. al attempting to recreate Festival Express with non-music is "ghey" (thank you monkeybunny), then I am automatically a pink-shirted, popped-collar, shittybeer-chugging, fag-smokin' and littering frat boy?
I am none of those things at all. You see what you just did, you actually stereotyped, whereas I used an adjective. I
Some of y'all need to take a seat on the cosmic utensil to help ease your butt-hurt.
Do any of you use the internet outside of this messageboard? Using the word "gay" in a non-homosexual sense is about as benign as someone can be that is hating on something they don't like. Some of you need to learn how to read to because I only used the word "faggy" to illustrate what I was NOT saying. All I was saying is that I didn't mean it that way.
I love how one dude's minor use of the word "gay" has derailed conversation about the Skrillex womp-express.

I live in a area where people using the word gay as a pejorative is not really condoned, and trust me I get out all the time. It is obnoxious and like I said at least in my experience only used and defended by the aforementioned pop collared brahs. When you take a subgroup of Americans that are historically looked down on, and are at the moment involved in a civil rights push, and use the term for these people as a synonym for something you do not approve of it sends a message.
The message it sends to me is that you are a jerk, with no self control and a over entitled sense that you can do whatever you want because it is all a big joke. While none of our gay members here (there are plenty) have said anything about it, I am going to go ahead and say they do not really appreciate it either. We had this same argument several years ago over retarded, and I would love to see using gay pejoratively die the same death that has.
