Now the question is what horrible thing you will do on your last day.
haha, probably nothing. Literally. I probably won't do any work. Here's why:
At this company, we do a summer hours program from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. We work 7-5 Mon-Thur and then 7-11 on Fridays. Our dept rotates so someone is here every Friday. We had already made out the schedule, and I took the first Friday, which happens to be the 25th.
Yeah I can't bring myself to do that. I actually like my coworkers (that is, the 4 other people in my department, not the rest of the building) so I don't want to piss off our boss for their sake. Cause when he's mad, it's not pretty.
1. Smiling at people in the hall only to have them look the other way to attempt to avoid me. 2. E-mails from my boss that tell us to do a simple task that he could have done in the 30 seconds he took to send us an e-mail. 3. The asbestos (?) dust that comes out of the ceiling vent that makes me sneeze 10 times a day.

You will definitely not get numbers 2 & 3 at our office, but number 1, I cannot promise..... we have grown so much in the past year that I don't know about half of the people here. I always smile and say hi, even if I don't know people but they apparently don't want to know me. I'm really good with that ;D
These are people that I've met and worked with; they know me. But apparently if they aren't working with me at that exact moment, I'm not worth smiling at.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread but I'd like some advice. I have an exit interview today with HR. I'm not really sure what it will involve, however, I figure they will ask questions about my experience working here.
My dilemma: do I bring up my boss and how horrible he is? Or do I just let it be? I honestly don't think what I say about him will change anything, so that is why I am reluctant. I don't really want to be viewed as a "disgruntled employee", but at that same time, I would LOVE to tell them about the things he has said/done.

Tell it like it is, these days all HR people will say on a reference call is if you did or did not work there. They are asking because they want to know, so the unvarnished truth should not hurt them.
I agree with Jessie! Let them know exactly what you think and why you are leaving. I deal with a boss similar to yours everyday and when (not if) when I quit, I plan on telling him like it is. Those of you who know me, know that I can get quite salty with my language, I plan on seasoning his entire office when I leave!!!
Thanks guys. Part of my reluctance is because HR is aware what an a$$ my boss is. He's been turned in before on multiple violations, and yet, he's still in charge. I feel that they will just nod their heads while I speak, and then turn their backs on the situation when I'm gone.

Honestly, if they havent done anything in the past that's probably what will happen. But if you have an HR department and that is who is getting called for employment history you shouldnt have anything to worry about in regards to what you've said during an exit interview.
