I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
I don't have a smart phone, but I do have an app for my Garmin, that is set for roadside attractions. Everything from the worlds biggest whatever, to random places monnie and clyde went. It should make for a fun random trip.

TweetCaster, Scanner Radio, Coin Dozer, and Accuweather pretty much does it for me. I have Pandora and Turntable but since they take up wayyyy too much battery life, I pretty much don't use them on the Road to Roo

Hadn't heard of scanner radio before. Looks pretty sweet. Thanks Pondo!

Weather Underground. Really the only one I need on the road. Besides winamp. Everything is based in hardware, standalone GPS and CB with weather radio. I was starting to piss off some truckers while in line last year, but others were interested in talking.

ive used the scanner radio before a couple times.. its interesting to listen to what they're talking about in brooklyn and similar places round here, the radios certainly stay pretty busy in certain hoods. but im sure there will be some funny things to be heard on the manchester police radio during load in. good call.
This app is stalkerific in any other circumstance, but the free app, Find Friends, is a great tool to keep track of everyone in your group. If you friend other people, it'll give their exact location--super creepy, but super helpful at a festival, especially since you can chat with them in the app, rather than texting them.
When we went to Coachella, my boyfriend and I were caravanning in with other people and to ensure we'd get a camping spot together and to meet up within the festival grounds, we used it and it was so helpful!
Pinterest app is fun. So is Dots, Bouncedown, and if you've got a car full of movie buffs, the app Movie Quizzle is the jam.

Has anyone downloaded the Bonnaroo app this year? I've had a smart phone a total of 5 days now (I had the same Nokia for 10 years until last Wednesday.), so this is my first year trying it. So far either it sucks or my ability to use it sucks. Has anyone else had trouble getting their schedule from Bonnaroo's website to sync with the app?

Anyone with a long road trip might want to check out Roadfood - I don't think they have an app but they do have a mobile page. It's basically a directory of good local restaurants, so you can find awesome little places to stop on your trip. There's a feature where you can tell it your start and end points and it'll find stuff along your route, but I THINK that might only be available if you have a paid account. Not sure, I haven't gotten a chance to play with it much yet.

I haven't been able to get it to pull my schedule from their website but you can create your own on the ap:
Click on Line Up & Schedule -->
Across the top you have what looks like a piece of paper. This is your personalized schedule, once you've created one.
To the right of that you have what looks like a person singing into a microphone. This is a list of all artists alphabetically.
To the right of that you have what looks like a window with curtains. This is the schedule by day or by stage.
To the right of that is a thumb's up. This is a listing of artists by most liked, your personal likes and most scheduled.
To customize your own schedule, click on an artist. If you want to select all of their appearances at the festival, click on the the thumbs up (Like) button. You can also select individual performances by selecting the plus sign next to the performances listed.
After you have done that you can go back the the My Schedule tab (the piece of paper) and it will have your schedule listed chronologically throughout the festival.
Does this help or am I telling you things you already knew?
