***AMENDED***
Hey folks, it looks like it's that time of year again. It's time to give away a general admission ticket to the 2008 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Some of you may remember from last year, AugustWest and myself gave away a ticket, tent and Bonnaroo DVD's to 2 lucky winners. This year, it's just me(so far) and I want to give away (1) general admission ticket and some more DVD's. But what do I have to do to win these awesome prizes you ask?? It's not much different from last years contest. But wait, there's more...
The Contest Posted below are 5 groups of photos with 4 pics in each group. All you have to do is choose 1 picture from each group(that's a total of 5 pics) and cleverly craft them into a story about why you might not make it to Bonnaroo this year. The contest ends on midnight cst, March 15, 2008.
The Rules Your story must have a minimum of 1000 words and be an original work of your own creation. Please don't plagiarize someones work. The contest is open to all Inforoo members with one catch. Last years first prize winner is not eligible to win first prize again this year. Sorry Pnutz!! You must be a registered Inforoo member with a minimum of 25 active posts in order to enter the contest. When your literary masterpiece is complete, simply send it to an Admin on this site and they will post it in the entries thread for all the world to read.
The Prizes ***added***
The 1st place winner will receive 1 GA ticket to this years festival. The 2nd place winner will receive 4 official DVD's covering 2002, 2003, 2004, 2008 Bonnaroo Festivals.
Entries will be judged based on their originality, humor and the category I like to call..."you sick bastard". Please remember to follow the Inforoo rules when posting and no, the entries from last year may not be used for this years contest. Take your time and get creative but remember that once you submit your entry, it's final, no revisions. And now the pics...
i like how you changed it up to 1200 words... you probably won't get as many entries... which makes for a lot less work for you guys to sort through them all! :-)
Couple questions: Do you have the link to the entries from last year? I want to make sure I am on the right path. and can it be nsfw? I am assuming the sex doll pic would mean yes, indeed. thx

I added a link to last years contest to the bottom of the first post. I understand NSFW content but wouldn't think the doll pic I chose would be too controversial. Hell, depending on where you go here in the South, the "petting zoo" pic could be considered sexually taboo. Seriously.
I'm sure some of you are wondering why I'm giving away a ticket before they're even on sale and the answer is this. Last year, I posted the contest about halfway through ticket sales and I believe we lost out on more entries because people had already purchased their ticket and didn't feel the need to try and win one. This year, I'm hoping to give someone the opportunity to go for FREE early in the game before it becomes a last chance effort.

Natedogg: Yes AngrySunday: Is it allowed to make the story a choose your own adventure? I.E. I make a thread for my story, and give a few options at the end of each segment or allow it to be open-ended and ask readers what to do next, write the next segment, then compile it all into one entry?

do we have to use the pictures in order.....and do i have to post the pictures or can i just say john whayne gacy and i?
edit: Can we use every picture if we want?
You can use as many pics from each group if you like but are only required to use 1 from each. They can appear in any order as long as there are 1 from each group being used.
Example: Martha Stewart Taser Waffle House Jack Daniels Porta Pottie
Include all 5 pics into 1 story, not 1 story per pic.

This is gonna sound stupid, but angrysunday: is the march 15th date correct? You said something earlier about giving people the chance to win a ticket before they are on sale, not sure if you misspoke or if you are referring to entering before tickets go on sale...
1. Who is judging the entries? Or will there be a poll for inforooers to vote on the best? 2. Does it have to be in first person? Can it be why your friend can't go, or does it have to be YOU specifically? 3. i dont get the the "you sick bastard" aspect. I mean, are we going for like blood and sex or something? Cause i really dont think im into writing a story like that... so id just like to know what that means exactly before i work on anything... my idea is funny and lighthearted.

We tried a poll last year and it failed because quite a few of the entrants were creating numerous accounts and inflating their votes therefore since I'm the only person funding the contest, I get to choose the weiner...I mean winner.
Your story can be in any tense and to be fair to those who have submitted or are almost done, try to keep the focus on you not being able to go.
I wouldn't worry too much about the "sick bastard" category. I threw that in there to see just how many sick bastards we have in the house. Funny and lighthearted is good too.

mine just got posted, but the parts that were italicized when i submitted it, aren't anymore. it was supposed to be my added touch of creativity, and now i'm afraid it may be lost on people
