Well from my house it's about 30 miles. Last year was the same drive except it was 100 miles as i drove down and back twice in order to meet up with friends that hitched a ride from NYC. It was cool to be able to go pick em up at Wally world come home and eat then drive back down for a 5 hour wait. I loved it!!! May be picking up and dropping off friends at the airport this time. Nothing like a shuttle service

making my longest trip this year - 1158 miles from western Nebraska, with RV trailer. 2010 was my first trip. Drove from Fort Worth TX, about 12 hours. Flew in last year from Denver. Google maps says about 19 hours for this trip. We'll see how it goes with the trailer...
According to Google Maps, it's 861 miles from the front door of my apartment to Manchester if I stick to 81. Somehow, that seems both closer and further than I anticipated at the same time.
624 miles or 10h44m from our group starting point in NoVA. I have a 37 mile drive down there too so 661 miles each way for me! Love long drives so I can't wait!
1100 miles from Rhode Island. Usually about 19 or 20 hours except 2009 took about 22 after sitting in 1 spot just south of Knoxville for 2 hours for no apparent reason.

Looks like 933 miles/15h40m or 918 miles/15h58m from Minneapolis, depending on whether I want to drive through Iowa and St. Louis or Sconnie and Illinois. Not sure which is worse, frankly.

For those of you coming via Knoxville, it is quicker and less hassle to take I40 west to highway 111 south near Cookeville. 111 turns into highway 70S just south of Sparta then highway 55 in McMinnville.
The distance is a little bit less, the speed limit is 65 until Mcminnville (except for a short stretch in Sparta), and the line is way shorter on 55 than on I24 coming back up from Chattanooga. Plus you avoid Chattanooga which is a bottleneck.
My itinerary: 587 miles by plane - Albuquerque, NM to Dallas, TX 764 miles by plane - Dallas, TX to Indianapolis, IN 350 miles by car - Indianapolis, IN to Roo Total miles: 1701
962mi each way from Minneapolis, including a stop in Indianapolis to meet up with a friend. That only adds about an hour to our drive. 1924mi round trip.
