noD, i do not think you are a shut-in, but you are making me feel bad for you with this business. even though we are enemies, i know there are girls out there who would appreciate your sassy pants attitude and knowledge about all things books/music. just be brave! the worst that can happen is they don't like you, which was already the case before b/c they didn't even know you. its kind of like riding a bike, the more times you try it out, the better you'll get at approaching girls.
p.s. did i miss what you are doing at the mall all the time?? you don't seem like a mall type of dude. are you just going to see this girl? if so, you def need to make a move then.

I think I just realized I have a bit of a crush on my friend's sister. Doubly awkward because one of my departments just hired her. I didnt realize it until she stopped by my office.
This will be my first Bonnaroo where I am single since 06. I will probably develop 10-15 crushes per day
Totally.....it's hard not to. It's even harder not to when you're at a show and see a girl you find attractive because then you also know that you both really like the band you're watching.
Just be careful you aren't caught staring at a girl who's there with her boyfriend. That's always fun.

Thank goodness there will usually be someone from inforoo around to have my back . Years ago at a SCI show this girl came up and started kissing me out of nowhere, and about thirty seconds later this frat bro started screaming at me calling me a dirty hippie who was stealing his woman. He however got ejected, and I sat there and kissed on his girl for another hour. Good times, good times......

I just started reading this thread last night, and have continued to laugh my way through it. (thanks Flanzo, Dave, Phi....and basically everyone else.)
I also really like that we're all coaching NoD on his nodding, waving, smiling (and maybe even saying hi?) skills.
Because I'm sure as hell taking notes. (This bookish guy right here is going to have to grow a pair in order to beat down the competition at roo now. sheesh.)

I work at the mall unfortunately.
And not just any mall, but like the most surreal crazy third rate mall out in the suburbs. The only cute girls I see are ones that work at the various clothing stores other than the rare girl at the dmv. The rest are elderly.

Even more fun is trying to check out the hot girls with your gf right next to you. I've found that when you get caught, it's best to say something negative about the girl you were looking at. That usually bails you out.
