Damn, y'all are sad.. I up and got divorced in 2019 and I'm not that sad. Of course, I think the tiny feel I'm catching may have something to do with it--it's only been a few weeks of hanging out here and there, but I definitely know by now I'm really into him.
Kinda figured after last summer that I'd just end up pouring myself into work and giving up on really connecting with anybody on a feel type level, so I'm enjoying the change.. Scares the hell out of me, but in the best kind of way.
*women start responding* Oh no. This is terrifying. I've made a horrible mistake.
As much as I may change, some things always stay the same.
Feel the exact same way.
*You have a match!*
oh god what have I done
One thing I've learned over the year that has helped is that there's nothing wrong with not being right for someone. Over time, differences are going to be exposed regardless, so just be you from the start. Both profiles I have set up include statements that Trump is the worst and that abrakapokus and I live together in a platonic way. In the past, I'd save those things until some level of comfort was established. Now, fuck it. If you're not OK with both those, things aren't going to work. Doesn't make either party bad, but it'll save both parties a bunch of time.

Agreed--transparency upfront is key. When I'm on The Apps, I have in my profile that I'm a queer poly liberal-as-fuck agnostic...all things I want people knowing from the get go because if they have issues with those facts, we definitely aren't going to be compatible.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I don't think you'd be able to hide it long regardless. Haha. As someone with an outside the norm situation, I have felt the urge to cheerlead others like that since I've been back on even if it's not something I could take part in myself. Asexual? Fuck yes. Tell them. Looking for ethical non-monogamy? Live your life. Hope you find someone who wants that to.
Makes me think about the larger idea of someone's digital self versus their regular self. I have a bunch of people from work on Facebook, so my Facebook is super vanilla especially political wise. Any conversations about that are more on a 1:1. I just don't need that headache.

Inforoo specific update
A lady on the Hinge noted that one of my photos is from Bonnaroo. She went like five times 2005-2012(13). This led to music discussion which led to me sending my top spotify artists right now (Ceremony, Wand, ADULT., True Widow, The Magnetic Fields, Faith No More, Viagra Boys, Jeff Rosenstock). I didn't think much of it until she messaged back a little later stating that Magnetic Fields and Viagra Boys had potential but she did NOT like Ceremony. I then covered that it is a standard rule (probably gonna refer to it as the Druid rule) that you should never just listen to anyone that I mention in conversation without checking first. She said she just listened to whatever was top on Apple music which, of course, is Into The Wayside I/Sick.

Heh I will say though, gauging music tastes early can be helpful--and while not a dealbreaker if someone doesn't like one of my favorite artists, it does give them some points if they really do like 'em.
E.g. am talking to someone from OKC (have been for about two months now...I think we're finally going to meet up for a walk this weekend #2020DatingMood) and I was sending him a photo that was primarily of my cat (because duh) but that also had my planner visible in the background which I personalized on Etsy and has "how strange it is to be anything at all" on the front. He noticed & mentioned this right away, and mentally I was like "OK, 3 points to Ravenclaw OKC dude"

Agreed on it being nice but not being a deal breaker. It'd be cool to have in common, but I'm also realistic.
I legit swiped right on someone on Bumble bc her top spotify artists was The Dead Milkmen. Just sayin.

When I originally read this, I interpreted it as you talking to someone in Oklahoma City. Which I'm like, how are you finding someone halfway across the country at this time?

I found another person advertising their Twitch on Tinder. At least it's different from the usual Insta/Snap plug. It's also damn near an auto-swipe right for me. Found another ace person too, which was nice.
