Well, not sure why you wouldn't like getting a number at random, but when I waited tables you're damn right I called numbers left on the receipt. One time a guy and two girls were at a table, and "Jamie" left her number for me to call. I called. Jamie was the guy.
One time I thought this girl at a table I was waiting on was really cute, so I told her that, along with my number, on the inside of one of the flaps on her takeout box. She thought the gesture was cute and called me back, but in the end that didn't work out.
So ladies what do you think the best way for a guy to ask you out is?
I used to work at a shop in the mall. One day this group of three or four guys came in, looked around, and left without saying anything to me. A few minutes later, one of them came in and told me his friend wanted my number. I think I told him I don't give my number to people I don't know. He left, and the friend came back and said, "So, what's up with your digits?" That was pretty awesome.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
With the last three pages, I believe this has the makings of Thread of the decade.
Thinking about it now, I have never successfully "asked a girl out" or gotten a phone number for that matter... I have been shot down a couple of times, and been told by 2 ladies that they didn't have phones, but I have actually never been successful, atleast "in person".

My bestfriend was a waitress at Pizza Hut back in the day and I was her mgr. There was a guy who always came in and sat in her section and they would talk about random stuff. One day they got into a discussion about which is better, fruity pebbles or coco pebbles. She insisted on fruity pebbles and he had never tried them. So one day he comes in with a box of fruity pebbles and says, "I got these for you, the only catch is that you have to share a bowl with me." I thought that was awful cute.
I have never ever called a number a guy left at my work when I was a waitress. I always just assume that they want something free and besides what do you say when you call, "Hey you left your number on my table?" Also, I have never seen a good tip and phone number combo.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
