So it's my second time to roo and my girlfriends first time. Last year I went we did rv camping and the heat was brutal, but lucky i had the rv. So since it's her first time I wanted her to be as comfortable as possible. I ended up buying a lot of thing, so much i don't believe I could possible set it up in ga camping. Also, I think it's to much to carry to tent only. My solution see if anyone would like to meet up go in together and set up a large tent city type set up. I have a 12x12 ez up, a shower tent, tons of tarps, a few tent poles, a 15x13 shade canopy, and a portable toliet(please bring your own waste bags). If you would be interested let me know. If not oh well see you at roo!!

Ignore the above replies. Great idea and kudos for trying to help others and becoming part of a community. I hope you get some takers, because that seems like a pretty sweet setup.

Thanks, I realize it won't be the same as tent city. I figured it was worth a shot to make my surroundings as comfortable as possible as well as incorporate others. Plus, you know there will always be someone under prepared.

Where are you coming from and when are you planning on arriving? If there's a way to meet up in Manchester before you head to Roo it's possible to come in as a big convoy. I've always thought a Camp Inforoo GA Stylee would be cool.
I don't get why you wouldn't just come to Tent Only - sure it's a haul, but once you get everything over there your entire weekend is 10x better for being so close (and being part of Camp Inforoo). But enjoy!

How about Camp MisInforoo? Anyway, if you want to try to make this work kegmi, I am more than down. I'll be in Manchester by 4 pm on Wednesday and was planning on heading straight to the line, but we can meet up at Wallyworld or something if you'd like and go through the gates as a convoy. This will be my third Roo, my girlfriend's first and we have another 3 people coming along that are also Roo virgins. Think we could get a pretty big camp together. Let's get this thing kicking.
If you are unable to meet up with Nate or someone else here, you could probably just go to Walmart as long as you get there by Wed night and find some people to go in with. I think a lot of people camp out in the Walmart parking lot Wed night.

I'm thinking the earliest I could get there is 6 so I can just stop by the wally world and met up with who ever. I just got my shipping email today. This just got real! Also, I have an rv pass I might just give away if I can't sell it. Somebody should get some use out of it.

if you have an RV pass.....why dont you just camp in that rv spot?? Should be enough room for all ur things.. I dnt think u necessarily have to have an RV....just RV pass....???

Believe me I looked into all possibilities for the rv pass. I could rent a trailer and that would it me the rv spot, but that still puts next to rv's without protection from the fumes of the generators. So, now I'm just looking to make it as comfortable as possible if your intersted I could meet up at Walmart at 6 since they day the gates open at 7.
Me and a buncha my friends do this every year but this year most of us are coming from diff states. Were gonna try to all meet up at Wally world and if you wanna message me your number ill def hit you up and see what your status is

Im meeting up with someone else around 7 to give my pass to. So, after that I'm free message me if you want to make this happen. 2 more quaking days 1 more day of work 12 hour drive 5 hour wait in line, losing my mind... priceless

Really...If you did this correctly you could have a huge area to one group. Would be just like the group camping. We have a group coming in 3 cars this year. We will already be meeting up with a friend of ours at Walmart to go in together...so why not meet up with a few more. We bring a lot of stuff. I like a nice set up + I do a lot of cooking. I already bring extra food and drinks for company...so if we do this you will get some good Louisiana style food.

Righteous! I actually started a very similar thread for this year before I stumbled upon this effort from last year, but I can redirect it here (more gears are already churning) to pool interest. I think there's enough of a head start to organize a serious camp! Since the main wrench in this plan would probably be meetup time if the meetup spot is Wallchart (although if on Wed or Thurs, this might be a lot like saying "meet me at the fountain" -- I don't know), maybe it would be best to first continue brainstorming some, collecting more interest, then splinter the thread to let groups cluster around 2 or 3 popular arrival times to organize more specific logistics independently?

You think the heat was brutal last year? Last year was probably the mildest weather I've experienced at Roo, it was totally comfortable. If you had a hard time with it, you may want to stay with an RV.....
