Wow did you even read what I posted? Now you're just making yourself look dumb flanzy baby. I stated that a college roommate who got me into euro soccer was an Italy fan (not Italian) so logically we always watched Italy games so I started rooting for them with him and have ever since.
And I do believe you started ruining the thread when you told me I was being a weenie for gloating for posting "ITALIAAA". So how about you accept the fact that your a summers breeze in a sac and jumped the gun a little and drop it?

No love for Spain here, huh? I worry that they don't have the skill up front to win it all, but I'm not counting them out. Viva La Roja! Viva La Tiki-Taka!
Looks like they had enough skill up front when they needed it. But the defense and midfield were spectacular, as always. That was one dominant performance.

I am consistently blown away by Spain's (and concurrently Barcelona's) ability to attack freely through the middle of the pitch. The subtle movements and deft touches of every player in the attack consistently yields cohesive movements that shred normally stingy back lines.
I feel extremely inadequate as a player watching that because I have never played on a team that has come remotely close to producing anything as slick as Spain does every time they are in possession.
i missed the final but it doesn't seem like i missed anything. Also, why did any of yall watch the Euros? None of us are from these countries. I think that means we aren't allowed to be fans of the teams

For the same reason I watch the NBA playoffs even though I'm not a fan of any team

2012-13 Premier League Predictions:
Top 4 Man U Man City Chelsea Newcastle
Bottom 3 Norwich City Southampton Wigan
Golden Boot Sergio Aguero
These predictions are made with the caveat that Arsenal will sell Van Persie to Manchester United before the season gets underway. If they don't, Man City will take 1st over United and Arsenal will finish in the top 4 over Newcastle.
Everyone starts this Saturday. Arsenal are playing Sunderland at 10 ET on ESPN2, and then right after that Tottenham are playing @ Newcastle at 1230 ET.
Top 4: City United Arsenal Tottenham
Bottom 3: Southampton Norwich Wigan (assuming Victor Moses is off)
While I agree the MLS isn't of the world-class quality that the EPL is, I take exception to this. The last 5 years have been absolutely incredible for the league. The quality of play has improved across the board and thus, the quality of the experience for fans has improved as well. I'm jealous of soccer fans that live near any of the new franchises (Vancouver, Montreal, Portland, Philly, Seattle) or any franchise at all for that matter.
Yes, you are right that young, highly talented American players should move to leagues more suited to their high ability, but sadly, not many homegrown players fit the criteria of the best leagues in Europe. Instead, the MLS provides a competitive platform for them to compete and improve until one day they may be able to (see Geoff Cameron).

I'm a huge MLS defender, FWIW it has moved its way to the 3rd highest average attendance of all the major professional sports. I;m also jealous of the new franchises with soccer only stadiums, they look like pure chaos. Every Rev's game I have been to has been a blast and they are in the leagues gutter in terms of attendance.

You're correct that, in general, it is a more direct league. Also, workmanlike best describes the style of midfield play in the MLS. However, what I find entertaining, and encouraging for the future of the league, is the breakneck pace at which games are played. What the teams lack in world-class quality, they make up for in desire and speed of play.
One of the more entertaining soccer games I've watched this year was between San Jose and the Galaxy - back and forth stuff the entire game.
You're nuts. And I say that as a Liverpool supporter.
Reverse jinx. I support Tottenham, so by not putting them in there and putting Liverpool in, I'm hopefully not jinxing the team I like and jinxing the team my very annoying friend supports. Pretty sure explaining the reverse jinx negates its power tho, so..f*ck.
Edit: I also don't know as much about EPL as I'd like to, so I didn't know Liverpool was bad and thought it was more a down year for them.
