I'd love it to happen but don't see it happening soon. Seems like he likes being away from the limelight and is only just starting to work on new material. Even if he works out a new hour of stand up there's no guarantee he'd want to play big shows anyway.
They need to do away with the Comedy Tent and make it a stage. I know sound from the stages might be a problem, but they need some way to make it easier to see the comedy shows.

I think Spamalot would be something fun and different. It probably wouldn't work, the stage is a tad small and it's a bit long for the way they set up the schedule. But it would be cool if it could happen.

Broadway shows in general would be interesting and hilarious on the farm. I think Book of Mormon on What stage or a massive Avenue Q singalong in a tent would be fantastic

I agree that it is too hard to see a show now. And unless you are really close the sound was really bad.

It's hard to see a show for the big names like Aziz and maybe Steven Wright (not sure, didn't try for him) but for pretty much everyone else it was really easy to see the act. I also sat in many different seats and thought the audio was fine.
The line for Aziz was crazy. You probably had to wait for a while to guarantee a ticket. Same thing I heard for Conan in 2010.

Had no problems this year but i didn't try for Aziz. For Saturday's Steven Wright show, i started walking over during SBTRKT's last song. I grabbed a ticket and went right in with almost zero line time. It was hard to hear him at first, but that's cause he's so quiet. The other show's sound seemed fine to me.
Dave Chappelle actually just did a show in Dallas. I had no idea it was even happening until the day of and by that time it was sold out ($250 on stubhub). I really missed out.
P.S.

Steven Wright was the one show I went to this year, and the sound was bad. We moved several times around the tent. It could have just been bad for that show. I'm glad it was good for the other shows.

Are there any lesser-known comedians we should all check out? I'm not plugged in to the comedy scene like I am the music scene so I might be missing out on some great comedy. But here's who I would like to see:
Dave Chappelle Jerry Seinfeld Brian Regan Jim Gaffigan (Strong Twitter game!) David Cross I don't know if they do stand up, but Will Arnett and Tony Hale. They would be funny just walking around.

Hannibal Burress John Mulaney Kirk Fox Rory Scovel Jon Dore
All good, relatively unknown stand ups. Check them out for sure. Hannibal is starting to get some traction though and is being featured more in things.

His special on Comedy Central was great! I had heard a lot of that material before but it was still nice to see him achieve that level of success. Would love to have him back.
i really don't think it's that hard to see comedy shows. i walked right up for steven wright, brian posehn, and rhys darby, all an hour and fifteen minutes before show time, got tickets, saw a band and came back. the only show i missed was aziz, but I've already seen him at roo and two other times. please don't take away the comedy tent! i love that place. last year and '10 was much harder to see the shows i wanted to, but still, if you really want to see a comedy show, then it's worth it to get there early. i have missed quite a few bands because there were comedians i needed to see. if this is not the case for you, don't complain if you miss out. gotta put in the effort if the show really means something to you.
Saw Colin Hay at his first show in the comedy tent. Sound sucked. When he talked I couldnt really make out what he was saying. I was in the front row so maybe it was better in the back. Talked to him after the show and he wasn't too happy with it too. My first time in the tent. Maybe it was just one of those things.

I heard from others that he wasn't sure why he was put in the comedy tent and that his set wasn't too humor-filled. Weird booking.
The sound can be crappy from time to time. Especially with super loud music playing nearby. That can be distracting and the comedian's point it out at times.
