Eh it's nothing spectacular but I like it. I am imagining that the vast majority of you guys have never given the album Sam's Town a straight through listen. It's probably their least popular album, but my favorite. I think most of you would be surprised by it, but I also think none of you will actually give it a spin sadly. It's on spotify and you can change it to a private session if you are worried about what your friends will think.
Sam's Town is an album that I only listen to when I have the time to listen from start to finish. It's my favorite and was what made me change my opinion of them from "oh that's catchy song on the radio" to "They are really good and I love them"

Hey, what's with the potshot at the Spotify Private Session? Unnecessary, bacon

Ugh. I dont mind the Killers and enjoy listening to their music but what a waste of a headlining spot. That band has no business headlining a major festival. Yes, I know they have done it but it makes no sense to me how. They arent that great. Bonnaroo would not be getting my money if the Killers headlined unless they had someone mindblowing to make up for it.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I can see the Killers being in a pre-headling spot before a "late night" headliner. Kind of similar to the set times from 2011
MMJ 8pm - Arcade Fire 11pm Black Keys 8pm - Eminem 11pm
or similar to Saturday 2010
Stevie 830 - Jay Z 1130
I saw Killers for the second time this weekend at Firefly, and although it was a great show it was only 1 hour and 15 minute set. They came on 15 mins late and then played until 11 on the dot. I dont know if they can hold down anything longer than 1.5 hour slot.
I saw them at firefly and they did come on about 10 mins late, but they stayed on till about 11:15 and the show was amazing! It's really fitting that they are from Vegas cause that's what kind of show they bring and there were a ton of songs they could have played that they didn't so to say they couldn't play longer then an hour and a half is idiotic. I liked them before and love them now, def the best show of the weekend (over jack white and KEYS!!). With firefly being about 90 mins from home and roo being 18 hours, their are few reasons to find my way down to Manchester but the killers are without a doubt a one of the reasons to come down!
I'm gonna have to disagree with your time keeping. They most certainly did not play until 11:15 and Im also pretty sure they went on closer to 15 minutes late.
And although it may seem like splitting hairs, the difference of 1Hr 15Mins compared to 1Hr 35Mins is what makes me question whether or not they can hold down a headlining slot.
Did not like the new album on my first listen through. I was musically deaf up until about a year ago, but ever since I have seen the musical light The Killers have been one of my must sees. I live in close proximity to Chicago, so the likelihood of them playing both (Like RHCP) seems likely to me. (But me living close to Chicago has nothing to do with them playing both festivals.)
I have vivid memories of Brandon and the Killers opening up for Stellastarr at the Double Door. It was all weird hand dances and hunching over his bedazzled keyboard. His transformation from one of the most awkward front men ever, who literally made me feel uncomfortable, into a stadium performer, is pretty d@mn incredible. I give the little weirdo major props.
I'll take both the Killers and Stellastarr! That would be incredible! I already have visions of the set in my head...Killers early evening Friday or Saturday, Which Stage, me front row of VIP...perfect. I've seen Macca, i've seen Foo, I've seen so many mentioned...but the Killers keep eluding me. This needs to happen.

They will be in Europe. Sorry to burst your bubble.

So it seems like this thread is about 90% pro Killers and a few people who can't stand them. But they shouldn't be ruled out because of a festival gig the weekend after Roo across the pond. They'd have plenty of time to play both. Certainly not saying they're in, but it's still possible.

It's not the weekend after Roo. Isle of Wight is the same weekend as Roo, they will not be at Bonnaroo this year.
We can probably go ahead and just lock this thread up to prevent future bumps...
