Picked up this new acclaimed 4k transfer Blu Ray the other night, and watched the movie for the first time in a few years last night. The sound and pacing really make for a tense experience, and while I was never startled or "scared" (knowing full well what happened when), I found myself getting very anxious during this movie. Job well done, totally holds up. And while this is clearly the best I've ever seen this movie look (don't worry, it's still ass ugly and gritty/grainy, but it's much more clear than any other home video release I've seen of this, including the other recent BR), I really think they could have gotten by with a 2k transfer given the original film stock is only 16mm. Top notch release, all things considered, and I think I may have to re-consider my horror rankings after this viewing.
