I have seen the Radioheads twice. I have been exposed to their music for years dating back to the early 2000's. Friends listen to them a lot, so it is not like I have been sheltered. I still just do not get it. Not to say they are a bad band.
I saw MMJ, on accident, ar Roo in 2005. I was hooked immediately and never looked back.
This after LITerally just seeing MMJ on Friday night. Which was a great show. RH just moves me in a different way. MMJ = dancing around, occasional fist pump, jammy-jam hair swinging... RH = staring in awe, hands in air, singing to the sky. I just happen to prefer the latter.

I stick with my statement from Saturday night. It is by a narrow margin, but I am going with MMJ. That's not to say that my vote won't change tomorrow, next week or next month.
As has been stated previously in this thread, it's really an unfair comparison because they are very different bands, and the choice will come down largely to each person's personal preferences.
It is by a narrow margin, but I am going with MMJ.
You are dead to me, Dave. Dead, I say!!! All those tears we cried while clinging to Abra during "Street Spirit" was a bond I thought unbreakable! You have broken it, Dave, along with my heart.
Go then. Go on and fawn over Jim's flowing locks and brown pants. Yes, I know there's something about "the way that he sings" but my broken heart needs to be alone in this moment of musical betrayal. *sniff*

Ten bucks says you'll change your mind.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but apparently what we shared with Dave this past weekend trumps Radiohead "The Dark" side wins!!!
I stand by the statement. In my top 10 shows of all time MMJ takes the top position and probably at least 3-4 others.
I feel like MMJ fans are the new Phish fans.
To a certain degree, yes. To be fair the reason why so many MMJ shows are in my top 10 is since 2010 I try to travel for those special shows. I don't do that for many other bands. It ends up skewing the list.
I was bombing through hip-hop albums like it was my job; somehow I doubt she would understand why I needed to listen to every hip-hop album of interest from the past 15 years in order to concoct my own "best of" list in order to impress a bunch of anonymous music obsessive weirdos on the internet. In fact, she'd probably ask me to just pack my sh*t.
I love them both and will part with my hard earned money to see either of them in concert, but MMJ wins! I've never been so jacked up after a concert as I was Friday night in Alpharetta. The show was unrelenting, one face-melter after another.
I took a friend to the show that was unfamiliar with MMJ's music. He's a huge Dead fan, but loves metal too. After the Lay Low opener he asked me if they were a southern rock band... I said "sometimes". Then they played "Outta My System" and he started thinking Beach Boys. He started dancing to Mahgeetah, grinning ear to ear, and told me he'd never heard a band like this before. After they played "Run Thru" he told me: "My Morning Jacket is the best band since Led Zeppelin. They might just save rock and roll".
So everyone who is voting for MMJ appears to have seen them in the past 2-3 weeks.
I've seen Radiohead live 6 times including their 2006 set at Bonnaroo, and I've seen MMJ 4 times now. This current MMJ tour is extra special though, so I am sure it is giving them a bump in the polls.
